The polygon normals have become reversed. Its these that define the faces front and back. If you can reverse them in your modeling application then try that first. If not then import into Poser in OBJ format and select the option "Normals Constant". Even that does not work every time but give try these ideas and let us know how you get on.
hogwarden you are a genius! thanks to all of you who gave help, now the thing is why did it happen so i don't do it again, oh well! next step is to plug the small holes that i've noticed, then texture map, moph targets then if i can figure how i'll post him/her in freestuff by way of thanks for all the stuff i've downloaded thanks again guys Dave

Hi guys I've just spent the weekend creating a sea turtle to complement dacorts mermaid figure. This is the first time i've ever used a modeling package. Anyway its not realy too shabby..... but.... when i import it into poser in shaded view it looks fine except for its kneck which from which ever view you can see the facets on the other side (inside). when you render it works fine infact better than I had hoped especially since I still have to work on the tex maps. Any ideas thanks Dave
