Subject: Confused about delivery

Ladyfyre-graphics ( ) posted Mon, 04 March 2002 at 11:59 AM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 2:05 PM

Hmm,browsing E-on's site agian waiting for them to take my money ;-) and noticed something strange. I always thought that E-on were in France yet the delivery prices to the UK are more than to the US! Also I was wondering just how long the standard delivery takes to the UK? Thanks Alla (can't wait to get my hands on Vue!)

I think E-on have also a place (Grr, English, who invented it?) in the US from where they deliver the orders there. I could be wrong though. For Belgium I had to wait a week or less I think. I have no idea if it will take longer for the UK.

I really whish that they did a downloadable version, I'm on cable modem and champing at the bit LOL. I downloaded the demo and played with it a bit, but can't get the plants to to work it says that it can't open the prv or something? I'm still very impressed with it though! It seems years ahead of bryce and renders like lightening on my new machine :) BTW the demo says that it is V4.05, is this still buggy? and is this the current version being shipped or will I get the 4.03 version? Angela, who reeeaaly want's her Vue!

Hi Angela, If they say it's 4.05, then I guess that's what it is. The CD's were 4.04 last month. I have to wonder what they're doing with the ones they don't sell, LOL! Personally, I find 4.05 to be the best so far. It still has a few minor bugs, but nothing too bad. The newer Poser .bum files will load, and the volumetric lights are far better than in the initial release. It seems more stable, and seems to render faster than 4.0, as well. I like it. :)

That's what I like to hear wink I was blown away with it's rendering speed compared to Bryce's...

You'll be glad it's being shipped. It's good to have the CD, plus there's the nice manual that comes with it. The manual can't cover everything, but it does a really good attempt, plus there's a handy index for quick look-ups and tutorials, too. :)

MikeJ ( ) posted Mon, 04 March 2002 at 1:42 PM

Speaking of tutorials in the manual, don't try the one called Building a Sunset Atmosphere on page 250. It's just ouright wrong. Step #11 can't be done at all. There is a way though, but their wording is way off base. When you get your Vue, just ask us. :)

Good point :) The lack of a printed manual is what put me off World Builder, well that and the price .

I just bought it about a month ago from DAZ3D. My version number is 4.04-02. Maybe that's where all those unsold CDs went; to DAZ. Gee, do I have a bum version here? Rynn, I think it was an odd mix of those old Anglos and Saxons that brought you English. And since the Saxons are from your neck of the woods, well... looks like you only have yourself to blame? Course, you could always just blame it on the Danes. :-) jon

lol jstro, I couldn't find the right word there. Most of the time I can make myself understandable in English (I think), but sometimes I can't find the right word, or the right way to explain something. But I never had any English classes, so I had to learn it all on my own. That's my excuse. ;) Now, if everyone would be talking Flemish ... :D

I am in the UK and mine came from France - very quickly. When I had a problem, the tech help came from the USA. sig6.gif

Alla, EON has a distribution and support center in Oregon. That's why the US shipping prices are lower.

Lynn ( ) posted Tue, 05 March 2002 at 2:55 PM

Howdy all, Our North American office is in Beaverton, OR (home of Nike). We are fairly well distributed between here and Paris. In the era of Vue 3.1 we were about even. With Vue 4, the larger portion of e-on is over here. And I have to say it, we (as in North America) are so much better off! There's nothing quite like a postal strike in Paris! But we have none of that nonsense here in Oregon, land of axe wielding plaid shirted folk, log cabins and beaver mascots named "Bucky" :-) Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software US Business Unit
