Subject: Is this the way adminstrators will deal with this kind of issues?

Hello: I sadly have witnessed another aply to the relative laws over here. When I was reading the posts over this forum it took my attention one that I "thought" it was directly violating the TOS, as soon as I read it I IM one of the admins over here, telling him that I've found a message who was a direct attack to other member, I don't know why It doesn't surprising me the lack of "action" of this admin, I guess the criteria aplied here is according whith the Admin's mood. I will ask, why to bother to have a TOS if it will be aplied discretionally by the admins?. I suggest to overule or delete the TOS, after all the persons who suposedly must know it, they don't. Why not just make a sttatement against copyrights violations and let the adminst to not carry with the weight make rational interpretations of the TOS?. I bet the Admins will be gratefull when this happens. On the other side a rule which is not aplied equal to equals is an unfair and dictatorial rule, so If you are so democratic as you claim take away the TOS and leave the crowd to aply the rules they want to this Internet site. I'm very sad to see people harrasing other members of this site with the aparent "ok" from the managers of place. Virus

Spike: Answering you in a very respectfull way. I will not do your job, that's why Renderosity monthly pays its admins and mods. Thanks for your answer. Virus

Virus, you must understand that the TOS is a very fine line to walk. Currently it is limited to that which is blatant in it's presentation. There are many many ways to violate it through subtle means, and it is physically impossible to make a TOS that covers it all. Please trust me when I say that the admins and mods here have agonized over it time and again, often even arguing amongst ourselves over what's what and what should be in there or excluded. The result is what you see in the TOS, something which I assume will be ever-evolving as the need arises. There really does appear to be no all-encompassing answer short of eliminating discussion entirely. Or, more specifically, arguments. But, arguing in and of itself, can also be a good thing. The dificulty arises when it comes time to make a judgement call as to what is and what is not, a TOS violation. Besides, the penalty for personal attacks is, at first, a written warning. You do not know who has or hasn't received these written warnings, and it is not generally made public, but rather kept between the warn-er and the warn-ee. Please try to understand that this is becomming a very difficult thing to manage.

MikeJ: I'm agree with you, I know that is becoomming a very diffult thing to manage the and aply the TOS, but I guess there is my point :) to Just overruled or deleted, that way the admins will be more relaxed.

Virus, the admins are here to enforce the rules of Renderosity and the TOS. They are but a handful in a community that is very, very large. Just as in any real world community it is our responsibility to obey the rules and regulations set down by the admin and to let them know when we see an apparent violation of those rules. It doesn't help you, the admin or its members if you complain about a violation and do not properly report it. I see in your first post that you did IM an admin, but did not apparantly get a satisfactory answer. If one does not reply to your satisfaction, keep a good record of your complaint and contact another admin. Spike offered to look into your complaint, but you, in refusing to show him what is bothering you, does you no good. Be helpful, to him and to yourself. Let him know the admin you already spoke to and point him directly to the place where you feel a TOS violation has occurred. This goes for all members of Renderosity - be thorough in your reports to admin so they can do their job. They're good people who love this site as much as we do and they're here to work with us, the members, in keeping this a fun, viable and informative place to be. That's enough from me. I'm going back to my drawing tablet. Peace, Sihn
