Yeah, finally!!! Great, I dont have to send Musclebound Mike naked into combat any longer! How mich will it cost (or is it a free addon)? Sascha

DraX ( ) posted Wed, 06 March 2002 at 5:55 AM

Well, seeing as since the Combat Pak required for this add-on is $30 over at DAZ, I plan on selling for about half that, with 30% off for the first 2 weeks.
Note, I've stretched plan because it hasn't yet been finalized and gone through the final Q/A at DAZ, and I take the suggestions of their brokering dept. very seriously, so I'll have to keep you in suspense on the exact amount until I speak with them.

WOOHOOOOO On ya Ron. Wondered why you've been so quiet lately. And here's me hoping you were working on MBV hint hint LOL Seriously, great work.

DraX ( ) posted Thu, 07 March 2002 at 1:26 AM

Sorry, Xena.... I DO plan on working on her and getting her out there, as well, but my primary focus now is to provide greater support to those who have purchased Musclebound Michael.
I've got a whole slew of characters coming out soon that use his technology and morphs, as well.

Hey, I'm happy to hear about the MBM support. I love him to pieces :) Have you tried that Tailor program with him? Could be an easier way to get clothes to fit him. Of course I'm just sprouting ideas - it's probably not feasible.

What Tailor program?

It's in the store - by Codetwister. There's a ton of posts on it through the Poser forum. It takes the morphs from a character and puts them into the cr2 of a clothing item. Might be worth your while checking it out.

:( I guess that this makes my current line of products I've been working on obselete. Oh well..... back to the drawing board.

Ok, now I feel really bad :( I wish I hadn't said anything now. You know, it may not even work with MBM anyways. (fingers double crossed for you) wanders off to dark corner to thump self in head

DraX ( ) posted Thu, 07 March 2002 at 2:03 AM

Well, I just spent 5 minutes playing around with the demo, and I have to say it's a neat little program... HOWEVER... The task and chore necessary in making clothing for an MBM character's clothing ready for use with that program, is much more of a time investment than I think ANYONE (including myself) wants to put in.
It took me a couple of minutes to get on morph working on the bodysuit from Musclebound, and even then, it still would've needed a lot more tweaking to even be 100% useful. It does the trick, but it would probably take me half the time to make an item ready for market for Musclebound doing it myself than it would for me to do it with Tailor.

stops thumping self in head I'm glad I didn't completely stuff your day s

DraX ( ) posted Thu, 07 March 2002 at 2:15 AM

BTW, it also gives some very unwanted bending on objects that could be otherwise better handled through hand-morphing, as you soemtimes have items that are supposed to have hard edges, or not bend certain ways.

I tried my Pamela character in the Tailor and found my magnets gave me a better finish and it was easier to handle. Of course, no offense intended to CodeTwister. I think it's an amazing product and I can see a whole slew of new character and fitted clothing coming. If I had the time to learn the program and fiddle around with it I'd probably never go back to magnets again LOL

DraX ( ) posted Thu, 07 March 2002 at 3:05 AM

I think the problem with it is that it gives the user no control over what happens. It just moves the geometry using a similar process to the Python scripts that John Bruglioni used to create his Vicki 2 Conforming clothing pack. It works on some stuff, and doesn't on others.

And it isn't totally useless anyway since I can't run Tailor at all ... So there is that.
