I've had the Jungle 3D CD for several months but have only done a couple of experiments with it so far. These can be used for postwork OR prework (in the form of texture maps that are mapped to terrains). You just need to have a paint program that supports alpha channels, tileing and floaters. I Think Painter 3DSE will work for this and it is a feebie on some of the other MC apps. The savings in render times are significant when compared to "real" 3D. Check out some of the tutorials at their site to get an idea of the potential.
Vue d'Esprit 3's foliage is pretty cool. Their SolidGrowth engine generates a different plant each time you use it. In other words, no two plants look alike. Best of all, they look good even close up. I think the app comes with 18 different species, then the company site, www.e-onsoftware.com, offers a couple other species (2 are free, the rest are $10). Anyhow, they look good and render quickly. PS: Vue 3's interface isn't as slick as Bryces, and their atmospheres need work, but it's pretty cool all the same.

Has anyone here ever used the Jungle Bundle from DigARts, I believe. They show them used as post processing additions for leaves, plants, etc. for 3D and 2D. Diane B
