I've seen this from time to time, and have no idea what it means. This computer isn't hooked to a network. Anyone have any ideas?

If you are on the internet, you ARE hooked to a network. [and a VERY BIG one.] ;=] You are potentially connected to every other computer that is logged onto the internet for the ENTIRE PLANET! (Earth, that is ...... last time I checked) ;=]

Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"

cheers,

dr geep ... :o]

I've seen the same alert, but I don't know the actual reason for it. My guess is that because Renderosity Free Stuff gets thumbnail images from external sites, a Topcities user has many new downloads and Renderosity has reached some kind of limit on getting images.

I just got the same thing. It appears to be jemma's thumbs. My guess is that rather than totally block direct linking to images, jemma's host limits the number of simultaneous file requests to four.

I have never seen that message but I get requests to place cookie's all the time, (I'm on a diet so, I always refuse).

This is before I even click the link. What is up with that?

Glad to see I'm not the only one getting that darn thing!

I understand the bandwith issues, but couldn't 'rosity host the freestuff thumbnails? They're only 15KB each!

No idea how u received that error message, especially seen as though u are not an administrator on my site. My opinion is this... topcities (my host) has been having a couple of 'issues' which ive also had the pleasure of experiencing. Ive been receiving endless e-mails & i/m concerning various complaints & questions regarding my site. The error mentioned above could be related to the fact that the site may have been in the process of being updated whilst you were trying to connect to it... I dont know... Unfortunately my queries into these problems have been completely igonored by the topcities forum administrators, obviously because im not an official paying customer (mine is a free account). Due to the file size factor, i have no choice but to remain with topcities(they offer 150megs free). My advice is this... if you have problems activating my site, make sure you have javascript enabled, if somehow this still fails to work try copying & pasting the zips url directly to ure address bar. I apologise for the inconvenience, & if any1 has any advice feel free to mail me @ dragonsayerie@yahoo.com

On Fortune City. They force people to enable cookies in order to download some .zip files. Apparently it's some kind of anti-warez thing they came up with. Maybe this is something similar Roy. ScottA
