Hi folks it's me again. ok model now looks fine, but want to make it morphable (head, neck, flipper etc) its a model i created so i have no original geometry just the 3ds or obj from either amapi or uvmapper. my model is noted as having 13 parts in the group edit (perhaps it's the 13 thats giving me the jinx) but the model only appears as a single object(prop) how do i split it up? I've learned a lot making this creature but it seems i still havemore to figure out anyway thanks Dave

heyas; is this the sea turtle, or are you another guy? (and post some pics, i want to see it! er, i mean, post some pics, that would help some of your problems ;) ) the obj file you made IS the original geometry. unless you imported it into poser, scaled it, used the grouping tool and created the figure in the p4 hierarchy. in which case, you ought to zero everything and export as an obj, to get the 'original' geometry. or wait, you fixed the black facets and stuff, and haven't made a figure out of it yet?? well, in that case, you must choose your path! you can take the path of the p3 phi method of figure creation, or the p4 group/hier method of figure creation. (one of these days, im going to figure out how hierarchy is really spelled :/ ) the 'old' method requires working outside poser to create a phi file for poser to use to build the figure. the 'new' method lets you do everything inside poser.
