Yesterday, I recieved a mail from my friend warning the commercial site's piracy. http://www.somavision.com/centerfolds/index.html I had checked the figure images on the site, and recognized some characteristic form of my products. For example, look Miss October, though her face was deformed, her body parts and texture are clearly Mimi or Nene's! I don't permit using them for commercial use without my permission. But I haven't recieved any information from them. and they have been silent since I sent them a warning mail. You may recognize something made by Renderosity members on the images too. Warning, all texture and figure authors! Go to the site and check your copyrights.

I did check and Miss January 2000 is using Traveler's detailed genitals texture PLUS Nerd's Clara's gloves colored white! I can hardly believe such open theft....:o( renapd

This person has been posting these images in the Gallery also...hard to get more blaitent than this! Claims to have been created by some of the best artists in the industry...at least he got THAT right!

Wait a minute guys...I don't get it....I followed the link and it was totally free to view the images there. Where exactly does the commercial aspect come into this? Seems more like some guy's gallery than anything else..maybe I'm not getting it... -Darth_Logice

Rummble Growl. I've granted permission to dozens of people to use my stuff, only asking for credit. I'm prety easy to get along with. But this is rude. Now I'm ticked off. If those aren't my Clara boots and gloves I'll eat them. Hokusai if your out there. Throw darts too, The boots are built on a mesh he shared with me. I've sent them a nasty note. We'll see what happens.

The pose used on Miss December is from Ghost's sexy pose set. I recognized it because it's the same pose I used on one of my favorite pics. I checked out the readme and Ghost's doesn't say anything one way or the other as far as his terms of usage, but it is definately from his pose set. I'll bet all of you were so busy looking for clothes and textures that you didn't even think about the poses so I just thought I'd mention this.

SomaVisions reply. They don't know shame. We are sorry that you feel you're designs have been used without your permission, but we can assure you that all designs of the SomaVision Cyberbabes are wholly original and have been fully licenced with the use of metacreations poser figure editor. Thanks, SomaVision

Now that's a load of bullshit if I ever smelled it. |-[ Of cource if you read this like Bill Clinton it is true. The Cyberbabes are "wholly original" and "fully licensed", just not by them. What is, "IS"...

Traveler ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 5:18 PM

I place no restrictions on my stuff, so anyone is free to do whatever they want with the morphs, etc. However if you have restrictions on your items you should check it out. -Trav

Slightly off topic, but I don't think a "Pose" is really anything to go around claiming is original. I mean, the body moves. Most of us get our "Original" pose ideas out of magazines or what have you, and it's a very high probability that two people will attempt to emulate the same pose from the same magazine. IMHO, sharing pose files is just totally a matter of convienience and not so much copyright. Modelling, now thats another story. Special, noteworthy texture maps..again, very much a matter of intellectual property. But poses? Come on... -Darth_Logice

Darth, My primary gripe is that these dopes are claiming that everything is original. Which, is true. It't just not originally theirs. Course' if Algore can invent the Internet I guess these guys can claim that my stuff is theirs.

Darth_Logice ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 7:24 PM

OH, Nerd I know and totally agree that the models that are used are clearly in violation. Autoloader mentioned Poses though, and it got me thinking about poses is all. There's only so many interesting ways to contort a body that is worthwhile in a picture, ya know?

Yes, and ownership of poses would be hard to prove in a court too. Sorry, I'm really pissed at these guys. Especially their GFYS attitude. I guess that's what I should expect from hacks though isn't it. I lay a curse on them! May their inbox burst into flames!

Darth_Logice ( ) posted Sun, 16 January 2000 at 11:36 PM

lol...yes, indeed. Hey Nerd, did you ever take a look at the hair I made from your original mesh? Just curious. -DL

Yes, and thank you very very much for having the great courtesy of letting me know you were playing with meshes I made. And you aren't even doing it for profit! I really like what you did with it too. I havn't had time to do a scene using it I just lodad it an took a peak. I'm sure I'll be using it.

Darth_Logice ( ) posted Mon, 17 January 2000 at 12:01 AM

I used it on my recent gallery pic called "Fun with Filters". It's much, much better than my spiral perm number. I added two morph targets to the hair that taper the length of the sides to look more um...and the word is...symmetrical. When I get a good amount of morph targets on the cr2, I'll repost it. It's a weird cr2 as it is, but is my first conformable figure, so here I am babbling... Shutting up now, DL
