Got the Mystery model and The Hi res textures The textures have a crc? error and wont load them all also my 1.3 Athlon with 512megs of ram laughs at me and rolls over to take a nap when I try to render......guess that I will have to resize the maps by half ..anyone else with this problem?....:)

I cannot use and load the high res maps and bump maps either with 512 megs of ram. What I found that does help is to resize the bump map jpg to 2000 x 2000 and then resave it as a bum file (back up your high res one first). Resave to the same name you see, so that your MAT and MAP files will work. This seems to be what crashes poser perhaps, bum files weighing in that large.

I resized everything by half and that worked the tattoo doesnt work though that must be the file that wouldnt install in the setup...I would have thought something like these would be a easy plug n play install but what do you want for 25 bucks (snicker)

The bad crc means the file got corrupted on upload to the server somehow, or in the zip process to the installer. It will be fixed bright and early tomorrow I am certain :)

So does this mean it was Stephanie that caused my whole computer to crash? I just put up a post that explains in detail what happened. It is going to take me days to fix it! Curse Stephanie! Not happy!

I have no idea Demonique, since it is hard to say what else you may have had running at the time that could have caused a crash. And btw, most crashes, even hard crashes, do not cause alot of damage to fix... just do a scandisk and a defrag and you will probably be running better than before even.

Well I am glad to hear that no one else seems to have problems, although if some are they probably wouldn't be able to go online until tommorrow if they don't have weekend support. I have already had to reinstall the operating system after formating the drive. I am still going to hold off loading in Stephanie for awhile just in case. I am hoping for the best, I would like to load her in and test her out for myself. Thanks!

It's the bump maps cause the most trouble - I have 892MB and sometimes (like every fifth render attempt) I get a Poser hang due to memory overflow. I've tried setting up a system monitor to check the memory usage on rendering, and a major Vicki figure with UpDo hair and clothes is too much even for my 892MB (!) if I use any bump maps. So I tend not to.... No, this is NOT unique to Steph, it's been a prob ever since the Millenium figures (very high poly count) moved into our computers. :] FishNose

Crashes are not unique. However needing to format one's hard drive and reinstall one's operating system is unique. And fairly drastic. I cannot imagine a simple crash due to lack of memory during a render that could cause such damage. I bluescreen my machine several times a day and have never taken that much severe damage.
