Hi Everyone, I've decided to join the rest of you crazy people and download Michael 2 and Steph. I got some answers from Daz about a few things but not all the answers, so I thought I'd ask the experts. I've never downloaded anything except the freebies from them. 1. Is using a download accelerator like DAP a good idea, or should I disable it? I know some sites don't want you to use them. 2. Will I need to make a new account with Daz or will they recognize me ( and my password ) from the freebie section? 3. When's the best time of day ( in the US ) to download? 4. When I burn my copies of Michael and Steph to disc for my backups should I just burn the exe's (which I assume I'll be downloading) or should I burn all the related files seperately after they have been installed to Poser or both? I guess that's all I can think of for now. If anyone has any tips or do's and dont's I'm all ears. Thanks in advance. droyd

1. I have broadband and have never used an accelerator so I don't know. 2. Its the same, you just have to input the additional information to make the purchase. 3. I haven't had trouble regardless of time of day, and the downloads always go fast. By that I mean even for my broadband I get high speeds out of Daz' server, much higher than I get out of most stores actually. 4. You only need to backup the exe's.

Thanks scifiguy!, forgot to mention I'm on a dial up 56k modem if that makes any difference, and DAP has definitely saved me when I've been cut off or the site's have been not so great. I also have never had a problem with Daz so far.

Don't use the accelerator, it will cause more problems than it is worth. Otherwise, like Scifi said, anytime is pretty good (except the night they actually released Stephanie ;) )

Personally, and based on other threads here, I'd avoid the weekend, if you can. That being said, I recently had a problem doing a full download, and Reba at DAZ was very good in handling it...gave me a passworded page for multiple attempts until I got a full d/l. So I wouldn't worry about using an accelerator.

For question #4: burn the EXE file. If you try to get the files after they've been installed, you may miss some. You don't need both.
