Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 09 3:46 am)
I agree completely. DAZ has saved Poser from obscurity, and is the driving force behind its continuing success, along with Renderosity. No slight of anyone else is intended, there a lots of talented and inspirational people in the Poser community. Even on occasions when things have gone wrong DAZ have given quick and personal attention, going so far as to set up temporary URL addresses for troublesome downloads. Cheers to all at DAZ B) Mark
:) Nice to see people saying thank you rather than complaining :) I do agree fully here, thank you to the people at Daz, they make really nice stuff, try to keep a good quality at an affordable price, give us nice gifts every week and are nice and helpful when a problem arise and you contact them. I was really hurt so see people complaining about Stephanie for exemple. She would be ugly or things like that :( I don't have her personally but I've seen people making wonderful images with her so I must think the persons who find her ugly are probably not gifted enough to use her, just a though. So, thanks a lot to the people at Daz for their good work and forgive those among us who forget what being tahnksfull mean :) J-L
Daz, I want to say thank you to, for all the wonderul products and gifts you offer us, for all the contest you sponsor, that make even the ones that don't win, winners in the end, for you always give a gift certificate, which is so appreciated. So big hugs to you and thank you from the bottom of my heart :)

Yeah - I gotta give my thanks here too (even though I dropped over $45.00 + tax into their laps just yesterday :) When I first started looking into doing more than just building maps for Quake, I was appalled by the sheer cost of the programs and models used to do it. Still, I was enraptured by the images of folks at palces like Digital Blasphemy, themes.org (a Linux artists' website dedicated towards desktop themes - I got a few items there), and many of the other early sites. Yeah, I could've taken the easy road and warezed everything - I have fellow Quake players who brag all the time that they have (insert high-end proggy here) warez'ed, and that they can now build entire mods based on it. However, I guess I'm just not the type to go about risking viruses and worse. Then, along comes Zygote/DAZ. Yeah, I catch hell from all the 3D snobs who build low-poly characters, models and maps from scratch in 3DS Max, Maya, etc (I do the latter two easily) - but I find a simple enjoyment in Poser - of creating entire worlds without spending eons perfecting NURBS and shaders, like others I know of. Also, thanks to DAZ and other mesh-mongers like 'em, I don't have to blow out my wallet or go furtively looking for warez just to get some enjoyment out of art. Cheers, guys - you done good. /P
I have been using Poser since version 1, and beyond upgrading to 2,3 and 4 I didnt think I would ever need Additional Basic Characters. However the quality and price of the Millenium line has turned me around. The staff at Daz has given an excellent gift in Stephanie as well as the weekly free downloads, For this I say THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Not to forget their service! Last Friday I tried to use my voucher to download Stephanie, filled-in the form, bla,bla... then came to the invoice page, which was showing the nize amount of all-zippo. Hit the download key and was re-directed to the invoice page (still showing that nice amount). After about 3 rounds, I gave up and shot them an e-mail crying for help. Of course, I did not expect a reply over the weekend (since I felt that the DAZ people are entitled to their weekend dues as much as anybody else), but come Monday, after everybody got back to work and over their Monday-blues, there was a friendly reply in my mailbox, together with another download link. Hit the button - bingo! Stephanie marched onto my harddisk. In the end, she was pleased with the friendly environment on my harddisk, and I was pleased by the good service of DAZ. Thanks a lot.
Just bought the Michael 2 figure today with the included voucher for Stephanie. Had no problems downloading either file but haven't gotten around to installing either one yet - 'cuz I'm downloading all the freebie stuff that I can find from Renderosity to try out on my new purchases! (BTW - Got a calender from Curious Labs with a picture on the back of all the DAZ employees - and they're all smiling - wonder what's coming down the pike next?) Just my $.02US...

Dear Daz3D,
First, I must say God bless you for your great work, and products. You have allowed those who've wanted to acheive a new level of artwork digitally to do so, without having to break their backs financially, thus opening up the market to artists who are virtually broke most of the time, like me.
Mike and Vicky opened up a new plateau of capability and flexibility to the artist, allowing us to create our own characters to acheiving photorealism without having to "hide" the standard P4 model in darkness.
On top of your top-notch products at affordable prices, you even give away a free model every week! This is truely one of my favorite things to do on the internet, to go to Daz3d's website, which I admit I do everyday, just to see what new items you have released, and I love to download the free stuff you offer so generously. On top of giving away a free model every week, you even continue to give away a full, high-quality model, with the texture map, of the Gremlin, at a site that reviews your products. I love it!
Daz3d also allows "brokering" which expands the versatility of the models, and places more products on the market. This allows hard workers and skilled artists to be rewarded for their work, and it rewards the consumer with high-quality works from folks like Anton Kisiel, who push Poser 4's limits and continue to radiate INNOVATION. Body handles, mat pose files, changing props - these are things that I could never create - I'm just an artist, these folks have artistic and technical skills, and I thank Daz and its brokers for their high quality stuff - and making such technically difficult areas accessible and user-friendly!
You released Mike 2.0 to the joy of the purchasers like myself, with excitement. We purchased this hi-quality product with no knowledge of any "mystery" model, and were thrilled with the product's versatility! Moreover, about this time, you even released Vicky 1 for the price of 20.00!!!
After many bought Mike 2.0 - you then announced a free model that would be given to those who purchased Mike 2!!! Wow! Even if the model was this week's four leaf clover, that's a bonus! But this model was of shocking high-quality, and of a value of 29.99! What generosity!!! And moreover, you extended your generosity to even until this day, to those who have not yet even purchased Mike 2!
For this, I must say, YOU ARE APPRECIATED.
Before the release of the mystery model, you released the wonderful Millenium Baby, a model of high-quality and versatility we've come to "expect" from Daz. We've actually been spoiled, as some have begun to be spoiled by you, and even complaining about free stuff!! Please do not be disheartened, FOR YOU ARE APPRECIATED.
Now, we hope for more models with the name "Millenium" attached to it. With great excitement, we wonder what Vicky 3.0 could include, and we hope for Millenium Dogs, Cats, and as I said, anything with "Millenium" attached to its name, as it implies QUALITY, VERSATILITY and AFFORDABILITY.
So, on behalf of the 3D community, I just want to say, WE APPRECIATE YOU, and we are looking forward to seeing what you have in store for the future.
Thank you, and God bless,
Ben Burton
