Subject: *** Anyone have a lead on MOTIONS? Looking for a particular walk/sit motion...

Anyone have a lead on particular motions? I am looking for one to use with Victoria where she walks to a chair, rotates about 165 degrees, and sits down (maybe puts hands in lap or on arm rests). I know of a couple sources out there, but what I am looking for is pretty specific. And it seems that it is typical to sell .BVH motions in huge packs, and then ends up being pretty expensive for just that one motion. So, anyone?

I can`t say if it has a specific one for you, but try a search one on this forum for BVH. There was a 30Mb BVH file link just recently, for free.

Or search for wolf359 in the MarketPlace. He sells two packs of BHV files. Sascha

Attached Link: http://movement.stanford.edu/santa.zip

This file at Stanford Univ. was found by Wipe and mentioned here last week. It contains 286 BVH files with several walk styles, sitting motions, and numerous others with most having 1024 frames. 30Mb download, but a real treasure chest for Poser users. http://movement.stanford.edu/santa.zip

Thanks for the tip. I might go to a cyber cafe to dl that one and burn it to disk. All I have is a lousy modem connection now, and that would take 10 hours!

I'm dialup also. Put it on when I went to bed & I think it took about 2 hours.

Is this the sort of sequence you're looking for?

Link to video clip (MPEG format, 781KB)

I snagged it (the BVH file) off the 30MB Santa.zip mentioned above. Try to ignore the poor lipsyncing and shoulder mutations (the result of my poor character creation skills, not the animation file).

The one I used was sit02.bvh, by the way. The collection has almost two dozen animations of "walking up to a chair and sitting down".

cool...i'm at the cyber cafe right now and got the file. also saw Little Dragon's mpeg...that one just might work. Thanks again!

You know, there is one problem. Alot of .BVH motions don't work that great with Vicki unless there is a fair chunk of tweaking since the .BVH seems to not address certain parts of Vicki. I guess for it to work perfectly, the .BVH needs to be designed specifically for Vicki...

you can fix those problems in the poser Graph editor
then resave the BVH file for your future use

Fix how? I have gone into the graph, but there are situations where the leg goes into some weird contortion for a moment. If you go into the graph to fix it, then the foot doesn't get planted in the right place for the character to step, so it causes a domino effect. Or am I missing something?
