one lone spike appeared in the same area when i went all the way back to the 2nd save, the earliest one that contained the landmass as i wanted it. I changed a few more setting in the sun again and it disappeared? Even assuming that was the issue, why would changing a light setting cause the equivalent of adding fractal noise to the terrain. There are no transparencies being used over there to catch the light as a glitch. All appears to be fine in the pic now, im locking everything in the scene now completely in hope that will stop some random trouble to start again but i dont hold no great hope that ive isolated this issue.
Hi, looks like a nice image already, is it the final scene? If you mail me the scene I might be able to render it and mail the image back to you. I've had problems like these once with bryce 2 and now I can open the scene without any problems in Byce 5. So there might just be a chance at fixing your scene. Oh, I just think about what the problem can be. Maybe you don't have enough memory left over on your system to load all the terrainmaps. I've had that problem with textures once (I lost textures, because there wasn't enough storagespace on my sysem to store the whole scene. bye, Rayraz my e-mail adress is: rayraz.rv@hccnet.nl

Is this bryce 5? if so, if you enter the terrain editor and make a change here and there, sometimes the editor will add a line of pixels at the top. This is a bug supposedly fixed with the patch. Take a look at the terrain in there, and see if theres that white line at the top. If there is, it's been fruitless for me to try and erase it, so I have to start a new terrain.hi, tks for the help. I doubt if its a memory issue though hehe, as ive got 1.5gigs of pc133 installed on this machine now. This picture is so basic at this point that its using 75megs or less total. I have patched 5 to the latest version though, but i will when i get home confirm that theres no tiny line of elavation at the back of that terrain. Actually, this is the bare, now lets get started scene. Nothing in it yet but ground, planets and suns. Got to begin trying to reimport the Xfrog models ive made, the Alien ive yet to model and the human baby it will be holding into the sky. Course the story line will all fall together later once its up and working (presuming i dont get another dreaded - cannot find object then errors). This is the first picture that ive had with so many errors though, all worked relatively fine up till now.
