I just finished up three graphics using Poser and Photoshop. Y'all mind giving me some feedback? I've put a link rather than post the images, since they're a bit large (width/height-wise) to post here. First is an album cover, second is a splash for the Mp3.com website, and third is a banner ad. I'd just like to get some outside opinions on this stuff. Thanks, all comments appreciated!! --silver

I REALLY loke your choice of colors! :) Very nice. And I like the pose, - and your postwork ... except for her hair. With the rest of the image her hair sticks out like a sore thumb. Trans maps? Post work in Photoshop, - to make it look like hair?? Britt

Thanks! The website will have the same teal/silver/greys color scheme. The color scheme was inspired by Anders Qvickers' web site. (a TOTALLY kick-ass Flash-based site!) Yeah, I'm not sure about the hair yet; I kinda like it, but I think it could be better; I'm not going for a realistic look though - after all, she is a fantasy character. Thanks for checking it out! --donnie

I have to agree on the hair, but I don't think Britt was refering to realism in the post. What it seems to be missing to me is some depth. Something that sets that texture apart from the rest of the body. On the other hand I like it better on the album cover than I do on the splash screen. I guess the splash screen just kind of makes you focus on it more because of the camera position being so close. Just my thoughts...

Ah, I see. Cool, I'll work on some ideas and see what I come up with! Thanks for the feedback all!

I don't know if the art is "good" but I like it! Silver and Buffer are right, however, the hair could stand a little work. Try some light brush strokes in Photoshop to break up the large "hairs" from the conforming curls prop. Better yet, I saw a trans map for it in free stuff somewhere. Try that and use the white color. THe problem with that hair is that the strands are so big that with out a trans map or a bump map they look too much like Medusa snakes. mike

Mike, that's it, you're right on target - it DOES look like Medusa hair! I'll go look for that trans map, thanks for the "heads-up"! ;) --silver
