Subject: A new face morph and texture for Vicki

After putting it off for ages I am working on a 50's hollywood hair collection. I want to include a era appropriate morph and texture. Hair not shown here. Do you think this face look is too dated. I stylized it after Marilyn Monroe but everyone seems to be into the naked face textures these days. So much of Marilyn's look had nothing to do with her face. The face and texture are taking longer than I planned. I know I can't make it look just like her or else I could run into trouble with the estate. Is this close or way off? I need alittle perspective. Anton

Looks pretty close to me.

Oh this is absolutely gorgeous, the eyelashes and cosmetics shading is perfect. Beautiful work.

Anzan ( ) posted Sat, 16 March 2002 at 8:57 AM

Wow.. nice... The only thing I can say is the eyesbrows seem a bit flat. But otherwise simply beautiful. Anz

nfredman ( ) posted Sat, 16 March 2002 at 9:22 AM

i second Anz' opinion. Lovely! If you're going for classic Hollywood, you need makeup. :^) But would you consider an UpperEyebrow transmap to go with this?

dvlcat ( ) posted Sat, 16 March 2002 at 9:24 AM

Absolutely lovely!

FishNose ( ) posted Sat, 16 March 2002 at 9:46 AM

I'm not sure this is Marilyn so much, but who cares? It's classical 50's pinup/filmstar, and absolutely gorgeous! Keep going! :] FishNose

HeavyRay ( ) posted Sat, 16 March 2002 at 9:52 AM

Looks wonderful as-is and would work both as a Marilyn -or- a generic starlet (as mentioned by others...) Very nice!!

Sidenote: It's nice having you around here again. Seems to be a noticeable increase in your posts of late, and all have been most helpful to us "junior"/newbie folk...

Anton, I don't think Marilyn will ever be dated! LOL and this is simply gorgeous. I think it looks like her. But you know who else I think it looks a lot like? Madonna! Yep, Madonna.

Eyebrows in the Fifties could be plucked (trimmed)and enhanced or replaced with eyebrow pencil ... often a thin line. Bushy eyebrows is a sixties thing.

I thought marilyn when I first saw the picture. I think you have that starlet look. and yeah there is a slight madonna look to her as well. younger 80's maddy. LOL. I dont think this is dated at all. she is really quite pretty. Looking forward to the hollywood hair styles. Will this be a add on to the changeing ponytail? The more I look at her she reminds me of marilyn before she became marilyn. back when she was younger. Great job.

Coolness. I will work on the eyebrows some. They look flat to me too. I need to paint in the individial hairs. Once thoose are painted in I don't think a brow trans is needed. You won't need the ponytail collection for this. It is a stand alone. I have something special coming for that alittle down the road. HeavyRay, Good to be here. NP Anton

Ahh cool, this looks pretty close to MM. Especially the eye-section. Hope you'll create also the hair for her. SHARKEY

Hrms... looks more like Madonna to me... Marylin would have more defined cheeks, and a slightly more defined chin...

LadySilverMage I nearly posted the same thing about the brows and then got to thinking I could be wrong. LOL Folks, I don't think Anton was after a 'Marilyn' persay as he wrote 'stylized it after Marilyn Monroe' I really like her.. She will look great in 'Vargas' type pinup pictures.

Great work Anton. The eyes are just perfect. About the eyebrows ... If you paint the eyebrows straight to the transmap layer you won't need to paint them on the head texture, thus giving everyone the option to colour them any shade they like. Looking forward to all your new stuff s

PheonixRising ( ) posted Sat, 16 March 2002 at 6:15 PM

I am not going to do a transmap. Vicki's brow geometry is too awkward. Handdrawn hairs will look the same in the end. I just need to get my tablet working.

I cant get her tranmapped brows geometry low enough without makinging her look like a cave woman. Painting the hairs will work out. Just tweaking the lashes now.

I'm one of the rare around here these days in that I like my brows painted on the skin. My latest character has 2 versions of her head texture. One with painted on brows and one that utilises a transmapped set of brows. Who says you can't please all of the people all of the time s

Glad you all like it. Okay. I redrew the brows and added brow pencil. Also redid the eyelash trans. Anything else while I am it. :) Anton

Those brows are it, that matches well with the makeup. These definitely rock bells, would love to see a variant with really dark brows as well and peachey lipstick (in a dream world!)like a Jayne Mansfield type. Wonderful work!

nfredman ( ) posted Sat, 16 March 2002 at 11:20 PM
