Hey Marshall! These are great! Nice & crisp! I like your deck and your little getway place a nice private area. I think you'll see that digital comes with advantages & disadvantages....and it's definitely easy to get hooked on the convenience.
I am, therefore I create.......

I know the feeling well only having got my digital camara recently, it's very addictive all that instant gratification ; D These have come out really well, the lilies & gladioli are really sharp with great colour. I love all the reflections in the lamp. I want a getaway like that!!

How I envy you, dear Marshall..!!
What is your digital camera..?
It must be a very state-of-the-art one as your images are very sharp and flawless...
...I was not able to see even a bit of digital noise that is seen in many of the digital camera pics.
Yet, most digital cameras with average resolution seem to be reproducing nice images when the lighting conditions are suitable, but mine are rather remote observations as I did not have the chance to experiment with various digi-cams...
Anyway, congrats for your new digi-cam, for the sprouting flora of your garden, and your sharp and beautiful digi-images (esp. the 3rd one)..!
:-)
Michelle, from seeing your pictures I knew you'd like that back yard pic. A lot of natural photo opportunities just a few steps out the back door. Misha, Jiffy-Mart? That may be part of the problem (lol)! bev, I've been around enough to know that anything with "instant" attached to it means some kind of compromise, although not always at first noticeable! doruksal, actually I posted the specs here on the forum about a week ago (knowing nothing about digital cameras), and was told it was an ok point & shoot camera, but nothing serious. I now tend to agree because it produces JPEG's only, and I just have to believe that more expensive ones will let you choose between a JPEG and a BMP. A pro wouldn't want their photo compressed before they even begin! But I agree it doesn't look all that bad for what it is. Rork, no such thing!! This is fun, but for anything serious, I whip out my trusty film eating SLR! Thanks for all the comments. If it wasn't for this place I wouldn't have even wanted to try a digital camera!
Hehe, was only kidding ;) I'm sure it's nice to have a digital camera, espcially as an extra one to your normal SLR :) It's only a shame that really good ones cost as much as a really good lens - for me. So buying one that I can use is still not an option......still need a good zoom wide angle and a good zoom tele. :(
Alpha, as a basic point & shoot camera, there is no white balance on it. I looked again at the original pic, and remembered that I did do something else to the first two pictures. I made a duplicated layer, and did an "auto levels" to the dup layer. Then adjusted the opacity level to the point where the colors looked more correct. The last 2 pictures I just adjusted contrast. Bsteph - Memphis. I have the only yard here filled with rocks (which can be seen in the first 2 pictures) that I brought back from the wilds of the Ozark Mountains.

That is the other side of photography. These are my first pictures with a digital camera! Although I've shot film longer than some here on the forum have been alive, I touched a digital camera for the first time this past week. Even though I was informed (here) that it isn't all that great of a camera, it was an exciting experience learning it, and downloading these first pics to my computer. What was really strange was not having to magnify the pictures about 4 times to take out all the developing flaws! These 4 pictures just come from my house and yard, but the instant gratification (and the savings on film & developing) made a notable impression on this film aficionado. On this first one, my lilies have made their annual appearance.
