Beard for P4Male By: boohoo Jun 3, 2001 PC/Mac 2915 downloads Goatee/Jawline morph w/Tex By: akisiel Apr 14, 1999 PC/Mac 8067 downloads The first one comes with the directory structure and instructions to put it in, but when I apply it, its only little dots. The second one comes with 2 obj files .tiff texture file, and this one I cant get to work at all. Any help would be appreciated.

the one with little dots sounds like a transmap is applied. Try rendering it- it should show up then.

Yeah that worked, thanks alot geoegress. Im still trying to figure out the second one, or some alternative methods of facil hair...does anyone know another location to try look? Or ways to make it yourself?

The second one is a morph target and texture - it can only be used for the model it was made for (p4male I assume?) and you will need to select the head of the figure and add the morph target, than apply the texture in order for the bear to appear. I think the first one may give a better effect - but it's hard to say. Lyrra

Ok I guess that wasant for the right guy, thanks for the help Lyrra. I read the manual and I'm seeing if I can use the grouping tool to make my guy a sweet beard. Is there someway to apply a texture to the group I make, for facil hair? Should I search for one on this site?

The quesiton is, are you making a long beard or a short beard? For short beards (mustaches, goatees) you can paint it on the texture and use a strong bumpmap. For longer beards you want to go with either a model or a morph/texture combo. What model are you using? Michaels come with beard morphs - the dork has some kicking around on the net. I tend to go with the model option - as you can do stuff with transparancy to make them look better.

Its just a short beard, nothing like the abarham or wizard beard. Im not sure what method would be best for painting it on, or how to apply a bump map, should I refer to the manual for this information? Thanks again.

Gosh it's been so long I really don't remember if the manual saya anything about this sorta thing. Has to say something about painting textures though. Go check the tutorials section - or look for a premade one for the model you are using. there's plenty kicking around the net. Lyrra
