Some guy is selling the Magazine version of Poser3 (the one that came free in Computer Arts magazine)... check out the PRICE...

(man, that's gotta be awful - I mean, you may as well save a few more pennies and go get Poser 4 instead of getting jacked this way...)

Pathetic. Especially since you can order a back issue for about $10 US.

On a positive note, I notice that the fellow with a bottomless supply of MetaCreations' Dance Studio has another copy up for bid.

Heck the Barnes and Nobles near me just put this and the Diget mag up on the shelves this weekend I think there was about 6-8 issues of each. Maybe I should invest... Nah! Can't bring myself to do it. mike

Whats more scarey, is 16 peeps bid on it

Seravajan ( ) posted Mon, 18 March 2002 at 8:46 AM

LOL. I find that the bidders are stupid not the seller because he wrote clearly that it is a magazine and its price per year! And the bidding was started with $1. Seravajan

$70 for that single issue???!!!! Just went to the site where the winner was announced. Hey trav, it sounds like a better investment than Enron stock!

Hell the Barnes and Noble where I just bought the mag, (Yeah now I have Poser 3 woohoo!) had at least 10 copies, maybe I should invest in them myself! Nah too much like stealing for my soul to bear. I cant believe some people.

I am so gratefull to get my LONG awaited copy, at the local book store. Now to figure it out!

Moonbiter ( ) posted Mon, 18 March 2002 at 6:56 PM

Yep. A few weeks before the CL amnesty deal, I put my copy of the first 3D World Mag that had Poser 3 on it for sale on e-bay to prove a friend who is an E-bay junky wrong. He claimed it would go for $30 dollars or more. He was wrong. It went for $79 dollars. I felt so bad I emailed the guy and told him he could probably back order it cheaper. He wrote me back wanting my address so he could send the money ASAP. After that i figured if he wanted to be parted with his money so badly who was I to stand in his way. Some people will pay anything for something they want and the won't listen to reason. BTW 20 of the 79 went to my friend to settle the bet. :)

Geez...I gotta start selling some stuff on ebay. How much do you think I could get for a used unmatched sock? :) DonnyD www.donnyd.com

I had a friend who was unsuccessfully trying to sell some really shitty t-shirts at a Dragon Con back in '95. He didn't sell ONE. I sat down and started autographing them and sold every damn one of them in 2 hours. The punchline: I'm NOBODY. Why would they want my autograph? I also sold a smashed alarm clock for 20 bucks, and a SQUARE PIECE OF WOOD for fifty more. If this guy gets 80 bucks for a magazine that just came out, more power to him. God Bless America.
