Subject: Little problem with DAZ support

TheWingedOne ( ) posted Wed, 20 March 2002 at 4:13 AM · edited Sat, 03 August 2024 at 12:03 AM

Hi all, does anyone know if our highly adored friends at DAZ are very busy these days? I've already sent them two mails during the last two weeks, since I had a problem with the mystery model voucher, but I got no reply at all. Don't get me wrong - I'm not angry or something like that. Just a little surprised since I was used to get their replies on my emails quite fast in the past. Phil

I send them 2 mails in the last week and got a quick response. Both were about updates of DAZ products.

Ditto here, second Email had a reply in 70 minutes. You may be emailing to someone who's out - Try direct to Reba, or dupl Emails to 2 people to make sure.

Could anyone give me Reba's IM address? I mailed sales@daz3d.com and support@daz3d.com on my second attempt and this didn't help. Since I'm not in the US phone calls are quite expensive. 1-800-numbers are for free if you call within the US, right? ;) Phil

Most likely reba@daz3d.com or try steve@daz3d.com or chad@daz3d.com

The new upgrade policy they have is really bad,one has to mail them the old invoice data, and wait for a email with a dl link.I only get a link to a page where i was asked to mail all the data again, mailed them ,that there was something working wrong , no answer till now. I understand that there has something to be done against warez, but this way is not good.

I mailed them yesterday for the Steph patch... the answer came back in 15 mintues ('course, I'm physically only 40 miles north of DAZ' offices, but still...) /P

I'm in Canada. Emailed them about the Stephanie update on Monday and got an answer within an hour. Surprised me.

When I wrote concerning problems with Stephanie, I didn't get an answer. Very unusual for Daz. When I learned here that there was an update, I wrote and I got a very quick response. An aside here. I wonder if the Daz folk are a little miffed that there have been so many complaints about Stephanie? I mean the spirit of some of the complaints have been quite harsh. Kind of "looking the gift horse in the mouth". Some people have read the complaints and had an attitude before they ever saw the new model. That attitude has probably seeped into many e-mails to Daz. I for one am very happy to have a new model. I had faith that Daz would fix problems as soon as they knew about them. We were beta testers to a degree. We now have a very nice model that has been updated for us and for free. Others will have to pay for her, and they will with far less complaint.

Despite the fact I write a very bad English (I'm French) they always answer very fast and help me when a problem arise so it must just be a little problem :) J-L

Asked for the Steph. update Sunday, email with working link was in my inbox Mon. 6:30pm GMT, which must have been at least pre-lunch DAZ time.

julie ( ) posted Wed, 20 March 2002 at 2:25 PM

I emailed last night and got a response in 20 min. But the link they sent just gets a HTTP 404-file not found. I have just sent another email to Reba hope she is as fast tonight.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Wed, 20 March 2002 at 2:57 PM

I emailed yesterday concerning the Stephanie update, and received the link this morning. Downloaded it without trouble.

Barabarellany: I don't know anyone at DAZ personally, and can't speak to what they think privately, but there was a thread here recently started by danfarr of DAZ about Steph and the reaction to her...seeking feedback, mentioning other options they had considered, etc. If the respponses he got were any indication, DAZ should be aware that most people were not looking a gift horse in the mouth. The 2 comments that struck me were: the length of time that the mystery model was teased may have inflated some people's expectations; and (2) if technically possible, the reaction would be better if new females (or males) could share maps with the old females (or males). But otherwise, people came out of lurkdom to let DAZ know that the negative feedback was probably not a majority view and remind DAZ that the early feedback on Vickie 1 was pretty rough also.
