Hi, I just downloaded the Bryce 5 trial. Is the retail version just as slow ? I am rendering a standard photosized image on a 450 MhZ with 328 Mb RAM and a 750 Mb Swapfile. two mountains, some fluffy clouds, with bryce classic snow and a water terrain. Nothing complex, just a quick trial run. It crawls ! Do others have the same experience, or should I just discreetly move Bryce to my work-laptop, which has less RAM, but more processor speed ? ~S

demo is not as good, almost incomparable. I was dissapointed with demo, but am very happy with latest version.

Bryce is probably the slowest renderer of 3D apps ( it is for all the apps I have ) Although I never tried the Demo of B5 I heard it's even slower then the actual version. But even with the slowness I still prefer to render most of my images with Bryce, because of it's high quality and extremely powerful rendering engine. With Bryce it's mostly PCU power which gets the render done. More ram helps when working within the scene.

Yep, the quality is good. It's amazing how many pics are posted in the Bryce gallery where it says something like "modeled in 3dmax, rendered in Bryce."
