Hi. Just to let everyone know... as my posts to threads in the Poser Forum always come too late for anyone to notice!! Poser Booost is an application which allows extension of the Poser library system. I have been working on this for a couple of months and have a fully functional version written in a language which is, to all intents and purposes, undistributable. I now have Delphi and (with an associate programmer) I'm in the process of re-writing the application in a form which should run on all win32 machines. THE PROBLEMS WITH POSER LIBRARIES: Poser was never expected to be this popular!! 1)When 255 folders are exceeded within a library, Poser behaves unpredictably by truncating the names of the folders. 2)The libraries become so large that it is impossible to navigate them. 3)The libraries are Really Poo. WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF: 1)Poser had an EXTRA LAYER of folders allowing you to further index and catagorise your files? 2)Poser allowed you to move files between library folders without loading, saving, deleting them? 3)They'd hurry up with Poser5? BRIEF OF FUNCTIONALITY: Initially, PoserBooost only contains the default library folders (which are labelled "Default character", "Default pose" etc. in the "Banks" list box). They contain all the folders you see in the Poser Libraries. New banks can be created within a library and folders can be dragged to them from the "folders" listbox. As you can see, I have created figure banks Animals, Eve, Micheal and Victoria and dragged the appropriate folders into them. I select first a library, then a bank within it, and hit "Switch banks". Only the folders contained within that bank are now available in the Poser Library tree. As Poser is so intrinsically odd, there are a couple of compromises which I must mention before you burn yourselves jumping through those hoops of real fire! DOWNSIDE: 1)When your banks are all set up, not all of your figures/poses etc are available at once. This can cause problems when loading previously created pz3 files. before using PoserBooost, It is recommended that you save important characters and poses etc. from your pz3's into your libraries. A change of practises may be required. 2)Poser is stupid. It doesn't expect your library folders to change and hangs for periods while it looks forthe last folder it had selectedin a library. PoserBooost works around this by creating 1 empty folder in each bank called "##SwitchBanks". It is recommended that users select "##SwitchBanks" in Poser before switching banks in PoserBooost. It's really easy when you get the hang of it and a vast improvemant on any alternative!!! Please post any comments or suggestions... and await release! Happy rendering! Howie:)

So will this become your new interface for selecting clothes, poses etc in Poser or it it's job strickly to reorganize the folder set up and then you would use standard selection interface? (breath breath) If it is the new selection interface will it have previews of the selected items? Either way looks like it will add a ton of functionality to Poser! SmoothG

SmoothG... Errr... Yes I think briskly re-reads yer post Errr... no... It's not the new selection interface. It's like a layer behind Poser for organising your folders. Hmmm... might be nice to have previews, but for a later version! Jazzmin! OkOkOkOk! but I've got to sleep!!!! Snore :)

The REAL question is... Why hasn't Curious Labs done this... or something similiar?! Good job by the way!

Do you think Curious Labs would buy the program from you, and incorpate it into Poser5? Of course it might delay the release of Poser5 a little longer. :(
