I'm running Poser4 with Pro Pack. Just got the Asia texture. Following the directions to set it all up... When I load the bumpmap.jpgs in the materials folder it doesn't convert them, so.... When I try to apply the default texture from the MAT file, it asks me to find the .bum file, but there aren't any as they haven't been converted! HELP! Pat

Hi Pat, you have two choices here. Either convert the jpegs to bum files or rewrite the MAT file. The first is done by use the render/materials menu. You load each bump JPEG in turn and poser converts them. It doesnt matter what you load them onto, most people do it onto the default ground. The second is done outside of Poser. Using Wordpad, load the PZ2 file from its appropriate folder in Runtime/libraries/pose, do a find and replace on ".BUM" and replace with ".jpg" then save as a renamed copy, still as a .PZ2 When you use this MAT pose it will do the job using JPEGs. You will need to copy the PZ2s .PNG file to make a Poser thumbnail. Hope this helps B) Mark

I loaded the bump.jpgs in the materials folder, but it didn't convert them! confused.... If I don't figure this out, will try your second suggestion. Thanks. Pat

Unfortunately the ProPack cant convert the jpgs into bump maps so the second option is the way to go.

You will have to edit the Matposefiles, that's what I often do when a Matpose points to a .bum file. Just launch Word Pad or the Notepad, open the Matposefile and use search and replace and you're done. It's no big deal. I've heard you could also save the bump.jpg as bitmap (bmp) and rename them into .bum but don't no if that works.

Another solution, for the digitally challenged amongst us, is to load another copy of Poser on another directory and use it to convert what's needed to bumps.
