Hi....I am new to using poser...and would like to know how to swap and delete body parts on poser models.
Basically I have a head on one poser figure that i would like to cut off and paste onto another poser figures body.
So far all i was able to do was to turn off the un-needed body parts in the heirarchy, and put the two together that way...but they are still two seperate objects. I am sure there must be a way to do this. Anyone got some hints?

You CAN NOT "delete" body parts. (per se)

You CAN make any body part invisible by doing this ...

Make sure the body part is "selected" ...
Then go to the:
Poser [menu] "Object" ---> "Properties..."
and ... UNCHECK the "Visible" box.

Now ...

Export the body part that you are going to use as an .obj file.

Now import that .obj file back into Poser and it will be a separate object (non-posable) that you can save to your props library if you want.

Now you can use the:
Poser [menu] "Object" ---> "Replace Body Part with Prop"
to put the "new" part on to an existing figure (with the actual body part being invisible).

You may need to UNCHECK ...
Poser [menu] "Display" ---> "Bend Body Parts"
(but then the rest of the body parts may appear disconnected)

Note: the new body part is NOT posable (per se).
It is a SINGLE object that is attached to the body as a prop.

If you want to have a new body part that will be posable, you need to "create a new figure."
This is quite a complex operation ... but it is outlined in the Poser manual.

Thank you I was afraid that exporting the object would have it lose its posable qualities...but I guess that would be the easiest. I will leave the character creation till I learn a bit more ;) Rawn
