The other day was trekkin' thru the woods (AGAIN) but went a little deeper this time. Came across this and took a bunch of shots. This is the one I liked best. I'm not sure how long this thing has been hangin' there, but it kinda got my mind wanderin' about those movies about moonshine and prohibition. Anyway, just wanted to get your opinions on this one. How would I go about gettin' that old time feel. I'd also like to get some feedback on framing the image. Thanks! L8r!

Michelle could probably come up with a good framing idea. I've always liked how she often puts simple, although very effective frames around her work. As for that old time look, this is what I often do to achieve that, which is adding some trash for texture, and blending it in with overlays and color burns, adjusting opacity, and adding a touch of sepia. This jug looks like it's got some interesting stories. Great find!

Nice find, I like the contrast between the texture of the bark & the shiny glaze on the jug, for an old time feel I think you could soften the image, maybe desaturate a bit.

Prank, Wow...I REALLY like what ya did! Imagine this on the front page of some old newspaper with the headline "ILLEGAL STILL - BUSTED!" I seriously need to get more into PS now! Thanks!

A quickie frame. Let me say...I really like this picture and I love what Marshall did with it. I just enlarged the canvas size with a white background color, duplicated the layer, used a rectangular marquee selection around the image and modified the selection by choosing a border of 4 pixels. I then lowered the opacity to about 27%. Simple, but thats usually best so as not to detract from the image.

I am, therefore I create.......

That's a fascinating image. Really makes you wonder how that
jug got there. The jug has to be several hundred years old
but the tree looks much younger, which is somewhat
perplexing. Did someone, say, 50 years ago, find that
broken jug and hang it on the branch? Was the jug lying
there for a hundred and fifty years when by chance a sapling
grew up next to it and also by chance one of it's branches
just happened to grow through the handle and slowly lift
the jug up with it?

It's very interesting to imagine the possibilities.
