gotta ask them to release a few freebies, drum up some business just like daz doBanging my head on my desk.... I wanna wanna it NOW!!!!!!! Please please say that it is going fairly reasonably priced. I am already started to save my pennies... (Have any of you noticed that banks are getting really sticky about taking rollled coins? I have about $40 dollars worth and I tried three banks including the bank I use.)
It's possible it might be --relatively-- affordable. They're selling 10 posable cars for $150. This is an amazing project. I want that bridge! This is not Millenium scale, right? We're in P4 scale? I hope, cause Mil figs would crash it. Emily I got so much in Poser now, I'm lucky it can open. What am I thinking?
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! That is freakin' amazing, that is. Wow. WOW. I'm with Hiram though... me puir har' disk! She cannae take nae mair... an' me processor, gi' us ine mair poly an' she'll blow! But that's on my Most Wanted list, as of now.
It looks good - but unfortunately it isn't something I could use. The texture work would really have to be slamming to make it something I could render in. Don't get ne wrong - it's an amazing model but like most Poser settings it looks like the dollhouse version of what it is supposed to be. It doesn't look real inside - iot looks like a toy inside - or maybe a B movie set :) Ah well, it sure looks like there will be a lot of buyers!
"it's an amazing model but like most Poser settings it looks like the dollhouse version of what it is supposed to be. It doesn't look real inside "<
Thats probably due to poser curent weak render engine.
I downloaded a complex starship bridge set
made by a professional lightwave modelor( Mobius)
I will use it in Cinema4DXL in the final renders
but i had to bring it into poser for previsualization
to set my camera angles and animate my figures for export to cinema.
and this mobius model did not look very good under posers lighting but in a true raytraced environment with volumetric lighting it looks awesome of course.
as i supect this new model will look in a better program
I commend Small space for truth in advertising
by showing this poser item rendered in poser itself
so people who render in poser only can make an informed choice

PROJECT MAGELLAN
Not simply a model. Now your Poser characters have there own spaceship! Its a total Poser environment. Completely to Poser scale. Everything works: doorways open and close, chairs swivel, elevators go up and down, etc. Its modular with a command, section, a habitat section a cargo section, and a power section. The command section also features a detachable shuttle. Each section can be loaded independently to make it easier to work with. Within each section, portions not visible can be hidden for faster rendering and movement. Everything is fully and professionally textured. Morph dials to activate functions such as opening doors have preset limits. (to keep a door from, say, flying off into space)
You might think that a project this size would be impossible for the average Poser system to handle. You know what? If the average Poser system is a 200 MHz Pentium One, with 64 megs of ram, then youre right! This project will kill a system like that, so its not for everyone. However, on my 1GHz Pentium III (hardly state of the art) with 512 megs of ram, theres no problem what so ever loading, moving and rendering the entire project.
Its not finished yet. Some of the interior detail needs to be added, and everything needs to be checked out to make sure it works. Imagination Works plans to sell it with pre-done lighting, a camera library that will move you quickly from one section to another, and pose files that will do things such as open and close all the doors in a single section.
Theres no price for it yet. Quite frankly, theyre stumped on what they should charge for it, because theres never been anything like it for Poser.
The Magellan is just one of a number of different Poser based projects Imagination Works has planned for this coming year. Other projects include plans, trains & automobiles, dinosaurs, weapons (for dinosaur hunting, of course) fantasy creatures (dragons, centaurs and the like) and of course, a new line of specially created human characters (including clothing) with totally new ideas in texture mapping and meshes designed from the ground up for Poser.
Ill be posting images of these new projects all this week.
