Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:57 am)
Looks good. Perhaps a slight slant to the eyebrows ... but otherwise, good.
Good elven names? What about Ihlastriel, Illiriel, Alustrial, Silaphiel? And yeah, I noticed they all end in "l". Most of my elven character's names end in "l". And what would I change? Honestly? The armor. I just can't picture a female elf with a Paladin armor. She should be dressed in beautiful, flowing multi-layered transparent gowns. But that's just my opinion. If she's a fighter or a ranger, then you should dress her in something a little bit lighter than full armor. Unless, that is, if she's a Paladin, and there aren't many female elven Paladins around. None, as a matter of fact. But that's just me.
The armor is a combination of Traveler's Gothic Armor from DAZ3d and a chainmail of my own manufacture. I absolutely love this gothic armor! It might be my favorite Poser product aside from Mike and Steph. Interestingly enough, I checked my name in the finder and it said that I was a "Feared Elf" named Morvasa! I like it! I think that's what I'll name my male elf character.
Nice work on the armor texture, it's one of my favorite pieces also :) She's looking good so far, I would bring her ears in a bit closer to her face, but that is just personal preference. There are several other Elven name generators out there, just go to yahoo and search for "elven name generators" you will find what you need for these characters and future ones too :) Good luck! Lukedesade - this is what I meant by everyone having their own opinion of what elves should be like. My background is in D&D, Dragonlance, Everquest, etc., and in those settings and elf can do a lot more than just walk around in their flowing robes and charm things with their beauty. As for the armor, it's not difficult in the world of Everquest to find a female High Elf paladin or cleric who wears plate mail. Also, remember the Dragonlance character Laurana, The Golden General? She wore heavy armor as well. Heck, I agree with you that elves should wear a lighter type of armor than other races, that's why she's not even wearing half the pieces of the gothic suit. Little Dragon - I agree with you on the chainmail, it's not perfect, and I've already been trying to figure out a way to do exactly what you mentioned, but so far this is about the best I've gotten. Anzan - you'll be happy to know that you can already duplicate this right now! I used the filigree bumpmap texture from the DAZ3d gothic armor MAT pak, applied a few different reflection maps to different areas of the armor, and viola!
Ack I am known as Amorous Orc in middle earth?! If I were a Hobbit: Gundabald Sackville from Grindwall, and as a dwarf, I'd be L Clawslinger. Interesting JV

I've always loved elves, but many of the elves I see on renderosity don't really fit the image of elves as I imagine them. To each their own, I guess. Anyway, I set out to make a male and female elf the way I imagine them. Here's what I have of my female so far.
Any ideas for a name for her? My male elf is also coming along, but he's proving to be more of a challenge.
Any ideas for improvement? What would you change? Thanks.
