Subject: Poser patch problem

Hello, I sorry if I missed a thread on this already. I just loaded the new Poser patch. Everything went smooth with the install. Then, I tried to add hair to my figure and the hair did not conform to the figure. It just stayed in the window. Anyone experience this problem and is there a solution, other than deleting this update? Thanks, Bill

Were there any conforming clothing figures in the scene? If so, make sure you have the humanoid figure selected when you load the hair. -JH.

Jeff, No, just the figure. After I posted this message, I went to the ghosteffects site where I got the patch. It had a list of known problems with the patch. One was that the hair would not parent to the figure, but to the ground. But he did not say if this would be fixed or if there was a fix. I guess I will play the waiting game and see what happens. Thanks. Bill

In several earlier postings, many have stated that they have had the same problem. You are not alone. I haven't downloded the new patch for this reason, awaiting a fix for this. I also do not know if this is a PC only problem or a MAC problem too. Hope they fix this soon. James

I'm still trying to figure out what the problem is with the first beta patch. AS far as I can tell, it's perfect. Not ONE problem with that one...I think I'm done updating to be honest.

Darth- One problem with the first patch is the joints would break at the knees if the figure had the thights scaled shorter and you turned off IK, But uou could work around it, and if you use Bryce the patch was very worthwile. I'm also going toi hold off on the new patch until they get this fixed, and somebody else plays beta-tester.

Thanks Jim, haven't come across that problem as of yet...like my thighs stupid long which they are by default so I'm in luck :). I did have a displaced chest for a while though, but it seems to have worked itself out. Hmmmm... -Darth

I've been waiting for somebody else to stick their toe in the water too. I see that my pet peeve (file I/O filters) was addressed, but this "hairy floor" thing is too weird! My current version knows where the hair goes, and until they fix the bug I'm still waitin'! BTW, anyone try the new executable ?

'scuse me? What executable?
