Hello all. This is my first post to Renderosity and I'm glad to see there is a place we can post. I'm a Visual Information Craftsman in the U.S. Air Force. It has given me the opportunity to learn many different 3D softwares, but I keep coming back to Ray Dream. This scene was modeled and rendered with Carrara. The engine glow was post with PhotoShop.

Nice image & sounds like an interesting job. If I had something that fun I would have stayed in the Army during the 70s'.

Thanks for all the kind words. The Visual Information Craftsman (VIC) career field used to be called Graphics Specailist, but the career field merged with Presentation Specailist. Thus creating the VIC. The graphics side covers all the art medias to include digital imaging. The presentations side covers audio-visual, like video-teleconference, multimedia slide shows and conference room setup. I avoid the AV side. The career field is so diverse that I've been assigned as a 3D Animator at one base and Medical Illustrator at another. The best part is they provide all training needed for each job. As for the model, I didn't have any plans to animating it.

Very nice work, so...tell us how the Air Force has been flying those into deep space without telling us. mdc

You know we don't have any Y-wing in the inventory, but we do have Snowspeeder. Hahahah It's all fun and game. I did how ever get in trouble for building a (conceptual) Aurora aircraft and posting it on an Air Force website. Now they have no humor.
