Evening all . . . 8^) Nothing special, I was just playing around trying to get this to look as close to a real light bulb as possible. The bulb was made in Zbrush / imported & rendered in Vue with native Vue materials. Have a good one . . . Mark. . . ;^)

Perfect object and texture ! You should realize real looking scenes with that Mark ! Yves

Very nice Mark:-). I know you from the pixolator forum. The bulb looks great, I'm looking forward to be able to create such things in Zbrush for use in Vue:-). Thanks. Guitta

Yes, very nice work, so creative. You did a good job on the light bulb too. Sharen

Yeah, Mark, it looks great!

Just a point of curiosity . . . I don't know much about zbrush. I thought it was a program for painting directly on 3d objects. Does this program actually create 3d models? If so what formats does it export? Thanks, Chas

Morning all . . . 8^) Thanks to all of you for your positive comments on my simple light bulb. . . . ;^) Thank you Guitta . . . I've seen your name in several of the posts lately, ( Gebe ), at the Pixolator forum, but I didn't know for sure if it was you or not I'm glad that I know now, & I want to thank you so much for all that I have learned about Vue from your site. I'm sure that you will be creating some very nice models & images soon with Zbrush. It does have it's limitations & a very steep learning curve, being that it's approach is totally different from any other software, but if you have enough patience you will learn it soon. I've been using ZBrush for over a year now, so if you have any problems or questions please e-mail me & I will be glad to offer you any help that I can. Morning Chas2093 . . . Zbrush does paint & texture on 3D objects in real time, but you can also paint with colors & materials in 2D very similar to Painter. You can also create you own 3D objects in Zbrush real time, very much like working with a chunk of modeling clay, & it has several primitives to work with. It's a pretty neat program, but as I said earlier, it has a very steep learning curve, & It does have some limitations. You can import & export .OBJ & .DXF files at this time. You all have a good one . . . Mark. . . ;^)

Nice image, Mark, and it's a nice model, too! I also didn't know that Z-brush could make models for exporting. Looks like there's a world of possibilities there. :)

My three favorite programs are Poser, Vue and Zbrush. I think the three complement each other wonderfully. The bulb looks great, kruzr.

I've heard of Zbrush, but have never really taken much notice, maybe I should have!

Just downloaded the Zbrush demo and played with it for an hour... What a strange program ! I still don't understand much of it, but I'm already having fun... :) you did a good job Mark, it's (nearly) perfect ! Eric

MikeJ ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 7:26 PM

I tried the demo too, Eric...it is strange, but I have to say I thought it was alot of fun. Even though I had no idea what I was doing. I had no idea it could be used to model something such as this light bulb here though.

Zbrush is great to deform Poser figures. I'm just a small beginner, but tried to deform Mike. Guitta

I appreciate the info too. I think ZBrush is on my wishlist for now. I'm not spending more money on software for awhile. :P gotta keep my hobby budget in line.
