So pull your chair a little closer to the monitor, sit back and explore the site. Take a look in the release area for the latest content then stop by the forums to see whats on the mind of the masses. Enjoy the ride. "

Looks great! Congratulations! sigh More money gone I think...

Hiram ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 10:20 AM

Gorgeous site, joelegecko; you did a truly fine job. Your content looks really compelling as well. Only someone who has actually been to art school could produce "The PoserStyle Figure Drawing Studio." Great work! Good luck with it.

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 10:31 AM

You really need to show and tell more of what you get for your money. I am only able to see a thumbnail of what you have for this month, that isn't enough to make me pull my wallet out. I don't care how nice a site looks, if I can't see what I'm getting right away I usually just move on. Marque

JOE LE GECKO ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 10:34 AM

We want to thank both of you and the people who already subscribed. The Figure Drawing Studio is made by WhWhitney. This will be a really great release. Thx ;) the PoserStyle team

JOE LE GECKO ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 10:37 AM

Marque, on the "Releases Preview" page, you have all the items listed. Just click on the thumbnails to have a bigger preview.

Tilandra ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 10:44 AM

I'm in total agreement with Marque... nothing is more irritating than clicking on a tiny thumbnail to get a closer look at something that looks interesting, only to have a nasty "members only" name and password dialog box pop up. Even in the free section, the example pic for the Napoleonic outfit is very tiny. You can see zero detail. If you want people to spend money, you have to let them see what they're buying first. That's why I don't buy DVD's at Kmart... they lock em all up in a glass case Tilandra

Tilandra ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 10:46 AM

sigh.... there was a bracketed grin smiley after my last sentence. HTML must have ate it... I'm really not being grouchy.

ronknights ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 10:47 AM

I've had a brief communication with the PoserStyle team, and Joe in particular. I'm very impressed by the responsiveness of PoserStyle. This is their first day online. I bet things will keep getting better and better!

kayjay97 ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 10:55 AM

Joe, the site is fantastic. As soon as you announce the contest winner I plan on joining (just in case I had a smiggen of a chance at winning, LOL)

Guys, you have to click around a little to find the larger views for stuff, but it's there. Dave, you may want to clarify the navigation a little. It did take me a while to figure out that the "releases preview" led to the products. Also, you might want to consider multiple views and maybe some closeups, particularly for the textures. But I reiterate: gorgeous work.

Woo hoo! I was getting mail as I was looking through the forum here when I saw you've opened. The site looks wonderful and I can't wait to start exploring. A big thanks and good luck to you David, William and Thomas!

queri ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 2:33 PM

Well, that subscription paid for itself in one day. Fantastic new releases to come. You got yourself a steady customer. Beautiful layout, great sense of style. Thank you , thank you, thank you. Emily

Looks good but I am one of those that had some trouble. In Netscape on my Mac I couldn't ever get to the bigger previews. When I clicked it it opened a pop up window and then immediately closed it again. In IE I couldn't get the "Member area preview" to come up at all .. would just download some "reel" thing to my harddrive instead of opening it. Could on;y get there after copying the link from in netscape. But stuff looks cool and good luck. Bonna get a membershp soon

Basis3D ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 3:21 PM

Joe Le Gecko, Can you please clarify... The ONLY items available for members to download are the ones in the Subscription Preview area? There's nothing else yet? By the way the site looks great! Well designed.

JOE LE GECKO ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 3:27 PM

Hi, 1. Concerning the previews, we'll make a page for every item available. And add more images for the next releases. We kept the same scheme as other subscription sites as nobody complained about it until now. But if more images are needed, there will be more images. 2. Concerning the Releases Preview, we connected the thumbnails on the homepage directly to the previews. Hiram, we'll make the "Releases preview" and "Members area" buttons more visible. Thanks for drawing our attention to that point. 3. Ghost, which version of Netscape are you using ? Concerning IE, have you enabled javascript ? The new preview pages will solve your problem.

soulhuntre ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 3:35 PM

I went and looked again, and I am impressed all over again. It certainly looks liek you are going infor quality over quantity - and that is something that is always going to get the nod in my book. For the price as long as I get 2-3 things I can USE each six months or so it is well worth the effort.

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 3:46 PM

Have Netscape 6 for Mac and IE is 4.5 with Javascript enabled. But I still ended up downloading "previewreel.php3" Thanks!

scifiguy ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 3:59 PM

The releases preview link loaded a blank black page for me. Viewing source shows nothing inserted between the body tags, just some php code up top :( By clicking the archer guy I was able to get to an "april preview" page that showed me a bunch of stuff. I don't know if this is supposed to be the "releases preview" page or not. Using IE6, but php issues would be a server problem not a browser problem so it shouldn't matter.

scifiguy ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 4:09 PM

Ooops...I just noted that you have that "clip art" restriction in your license that we all hated so much when DAZ slipped it into theirs. Don't like that too much Joe.

JOE LE GECKO ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 4:10 PM

Dkal, yes, there is only 16 items available now :) Four more will be added until the end of the month... Considering only the new items and the price that can be seen anywhere, you get an items value of twice the price you pay for, just for the first month... Ghost, I'm looking into the problem. Thanks for the comments ;) joe

JOE LE GECKO ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 4:20 PM

The April preview is the releases preview. There's just one page now since we're opening. If you were able to access the April page, then the problem may be javascript. Contact me at : webmaster@poserstyle.com Concerning the clip art restriction, we'll look into that. joe

Crescent ( ) posted Mon, 01 April 2002 at 9:08 PM

I was one of the lucky ones who got several of Joe's textures before he closed his site down. His textures are great! I signed up first thing this morning and got the following: Wonder Wedge HiRes Cat Angel (Mike texture) Jeff (Mike texture) Sanja (Posette texture) Shark (Shark texture) Jerry (Mike texture) Heather (Posette texture) Petra (Posette texture) James (Mike texture) Zombie (Mike texture) Kain (Mike texture) Archer (Mike clothing) Black Archer (Mike clothing texture) Archer Poses (Mike Poses) Mike Eyes (Mike eye textures) On a PC, both IE 6 and Netscape 6.2 are showing previews and downloading properly for me. I can't wait for next week's download - realistic clothing textures for Mike. A Vicki archer's outfit is also coming out soon. The free stuff may say it's a Napoleanic helmet, but if you click on the page, you'll see a full Cuirassier outfit. I'm a happy camper. No, I'm not paid to endorse the site. :-) One minor point - I would suggest better expressions for Mike as he tries out the different textures. He looks a bit drugged out on the close-up facial shots.

I was thinking the same thing about paypal???

JOE LE GECKO ( ) posted Tue, 02 April 2002 at 4:34 AM

Hi, PoserStyle has been updates with new preview pages and accessing the releases preview page shouldn't be a problem for those who couldn' access it. We also made some minor changes that will enhance the navigation. Most users and members are really satisfied. Thanks Crescent. Since more and more people would like to be able to pay with PayPal, we are reconsidering it. The problem is that the process can't be automated. So people who will use PayPal will have to wait a bit longer to have their login-password... Thanks joelegecko

AprilYSH ( ) posted Tue, 02 April 2002 at 8:49 AM

that's acceptable :)

Actually, PayPal has a subscription service. It is being used on a number of "adult" websites as their means for access. :)

JOE LE GECKO ( ) posted Fri, 05 April 2002 at 5:09 AM

We are aware of this option, but as another society is already taking care of the subscribtion, we need to be sure there won't be any conflict... If we can't be sure, then, we'll manually add new members, so expect a PayPal membership soon :)
