Ron ~ Maybe you can put your PZ3's onto cd's, possibly re-writables, make one for Steph, one for mike2, etc. And catalog them as to what is where, you might be able to find a shareware cd catalog program at www.tucows.com. Or maybe add a second drive. Might be able to pick up a 20 gig drive for around 79-89 bucks. Just a thought.........
Western Digital is Firewire?? This is a possibility-- USB is waaaay too slow to deal with. Having spent the last two days transferring Poser to my laptop to save my circulation probs, I'm left with only 3Gs left for scratch-- that's if I don't buy more-- pause for maniacal laughter. And I haven' downloaded much of my free stuff yet. Sigh. I'd call this an addiction but since it makes my life bearable right now-- lets just say obsession, huh? Emily By the way, Ron, your free faces for Mike ROCK!!
I remember trying to buy a smaller HD for my first IBM clone becaue I never thought I'd fill up 32 Mb! I have dual 30 GB drives right now, I might add another 40 GB or two (my current system supports 8 IDE devices), but after a point it really gets to be housekeeping, you can fill up any HD(s) eventually! The 32 Mb drive was about $450, incidently, my Segate 4096 (80 Mb) on my 386 was close to $600, but gee, what a hunk of iron, FULL HEIGHT 5 1/4" DEVICE!! Them days we had real computers! When I gey my first 3 1/2" drive I thought it was the connector, I kept looking through the packing for the real drive.
Hey Yall , let me tell you about 3.5" firewire drive enclosures. CompUSA and a company called Pyro make hard drive enclosures that connect to your PC via firewire, 400mbps transfer capable. you can put ANY IDE UDMA 33/66 or ATA 100 hard drive in them. price range is 75-99$ not a bad solution for those extra drives laying around. also i think its a bit cheaper to get a drive and then the enclosure as opposed to the "whole package deals" that maxtor and WD have.
