It's a 1966 Mustang of course. This is just a status report for those following my classic cars for Poser. It is still more than a Month out but for those that thought I gave up completely after cancelling the 1964 T-bird conversion I thought they might like to see that work is still progressing on the Mustang. It will eventually look like my Sprintime Yellow 1966 GT Fastback. Well, with a better paint job that is.

You are of to a great start. :)

Are you building that in MilkShape?

Duddly ( ) posted Fri, 05 April 2002 at 4:57 PM

Yes and No, I am building in Maya 4 but I use milkshape to cut models up and set materials and texture maps. Its super simple to use Milkshape for that and it does a great job translating into Poser. I haven't had consistent results getting UV mapping from Maya into an OBJ for Poser.

I thought I recognized that grid. I'm a MilkShape alumni myself. Its OBJ import/export plugin works perfectly with Poser. The grouping function will even split vertices like UVMapper. I'm waiting patiently for version 2.0, which should allow me to tinker with Michael. :)

What is MilkShape?

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Fri, 05 April 2002 at 7:01 PM

It's an inexpensive shareware modelling/animation program, intended mainly for low-poly game creation, but very versatile nonetheless. I've built props and poseable characters for Poser with it. You can download and try it out for 30 days, before the time-trial expires; registration is $20.

Find it here:

Duddly, The Mustang is looking great. Can't wait to see it finished. Now, you know, your going to have to make a Shelby version of it too.

Duddly, I came across a program called PhotoModeler Lite. If you haven't used it, you might want to take a look...it could save some time down the road. I thought of your project when I saw that one of their tutorials includes a Ferrari. I also posted a notice with brief description @ http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=648329

Oh. I forgot to mention PhotoModeler Lite is FREE.
