Hi, I would like to make my first cloth for the Mboy. What modeler is the best (and free/share) to do that ? I dont want spending too much $ on software like 3ds/rhino. NO WAREZ of course !!! Thanks Laurent

I use amapi 5.1 for modelling and i think its very good. in one magazine there should be a free copy now.Have a look in the amapi forum on the right. Dont think that one program is the best, its always the person who uses the program.some make things easier, others are better in different things

Another fun and easy program is Anim8or. And Milkshape. Both are good, easy programs to use (although I prefer the first).

You can use the free version of max too :) It has almost all modeling tools of the paying version so it's quiet powerful :) J-L

On this month's DIGIT magazine (www.digitmag.co.uk), you'll find : o Amapi 5.15 FULL app o Amapi 6.1 30-day FULL app - goes save-disabled after 30 days. If you're a UK citizen, you can upgrade the free 5.15 to full 6.1 for 99. Main difference between the two is that 6.1 has OBJ import/export. Both are unstable in texturing/rendering, but stable and extremely powerful in modeling. Check out the Amapi Forum here on R'osity for tutes and ideas.

"Doctor Amapi", Olivier Drion, also a frenchman, has an excellent website on Amapi : http://perso.club-internet.fr/odrion/ ...and (as your english seems excellent) you'll also find a lot of helpful info on the manual included on the Digit Magazine CD. ...AND if you can't wait, you can go to the Amapi Forum here on R'osity right now for a link to a free (perfectly legal) download of Amapi v. 4.15 (look at the top of the page). Have fun.
