Congrats to the winners, and no offense to you Rena, but... I didn't even know where to find the members gallery until after the voting was over. The official rules left out the URL for the gallery. Once I did find it I wasn't even able to view a single entry or winner without Netscape crashing with a Type3 error. I've tried a half dozen times today to navigate past all the pop up advertisements and cookies to view the winner's gallery, only to get the same crash everytime. I never have this problem navigating the Pay site, so I assume it is just the free site that does this. You might want to take a look at the site and see what the problem is. It just does not like Netscape. My other critique is regarding all contests in general that use member voting to pick the winner. They always turn into a personal popularity contest, and rarely have any bearing on the quality of the art submitted. From what I could see of the winner's thumbnails before my browser crashed, the three winning images were not the best images entered. They just got the most votes from other members. In the future, you might want to get a panel of judges to select the winners based on an established criteria of technique, concept, execution and originality. Member votes are always biased and beholding IMHO.

Hi Alleycat, I could not view the entries on Netscape either but had no problems using IE. Can't you just switch browsers? Also, all the contestants were "anonymous" so if everyone played fairly, the winner's were chosen not by personal popularity, but by the content of the images. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. (: Genny

Yes alleycat, the artists name were put up just today on the relevant pages, after the voting period had expired and BEFORE the winners were announced! :o) I've never claimed of being an html guru and I have no idea why the site won't like Netscape as you put it.. those free area pages are not my responsibility but belong to the eye, I just have permission to edit them for the contest and free area! :o) There were too many good images on this one as there were too many submissions (how often do you see 71 entries to a contest lasting just a few weeks? ) as for the results, I had said by the very first moment that this is a contest of democracy.. and as we preach here in Greece about democracy.. it means you accept the results even if they don't suit your taste or are not your very own choice! VL grin This was a contest fully for the members shake as they have asked for a gallery for soo long I thought they deserved it, and it was only fair THEY are the ones who choose the winners among them as well! :o) I keep on hoping that from now on they'll keep on sending me their great images to add to that gallery and I don't mind a bit the extra work that means to mean (more html pages) simply because they are all great folks and fully deserve it! :o) Rena

Very cool! All the ones I liked got something. The two I was sweating blood over came in 1st and 3rd. There were wonderful entries and it was very difficult to choose between them. I don't wonder there was a three way tie for awhile. Emily
