Have seen several great textures with tattoos. How do you do that. I tried and it looks like crap. Do you actually draw the tattoo onto the texture or what? I have several characters that I would to add a tattoo to. Thanks

The tattoo is drawn onto the texture. For greater detail you may like to remap the object giving a greater area (and hence more detail) to the proposed tattoo location.

As you put it, TyggerBob, it was and I would think still free. I would assume that it would fall under the freeware rule. However, I don't know for sure. Nor, would I ask somebody to send me something that got from BBay or anyone else selling their hard work. I hope to make a bit of money myself one of these days, and I know I would resent the heck out of someone giving my stuff away, unless that I had posted in a free stuff area of some kind. Then I wouldn't have any problems with.

Speeking for my own files that are offered for free I would only ask that they are distrubuted in their original zip form and that a small credit is given when used. Zygot offer some free files but on the basis that after the free period they will become part of the Zygot library for future issue on CD and no distribution is allowed.

Butch, the tattoo maps and figure that were mentioned (R.S.O.B.) are mine. I've recently run out of room on my isp server, and because of that had to start removing things to make room for others. I've contemplated my own domain and space, but I'm not convinced it's worth the $$$. Contact me via rbtwhiz@hotmail.com and I will arrange getting you the files. In regards to redistribution of my work, here is a clipping of the notice posted at the top of the very page the items were available from: "...Redistribution or sale of these models by themselves, or as part of a collection, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited unless released by me...", there was also a javascript alert on every download that said the very same thing. For future reference, the best way to handle any creators work if you have questions, is to ask the creator. Most (if not all) creators of the "free" stuff are more than willing to work with you. Some also have very valid reasons they post conditions for use of their work... Again, you can contact me privately at rbtwhiz@hotmail.com. -Rob

As far as the new texture I posted today in the Fun Stuff, I found a good photo of a real tatoo done on someones back and with a little extra work in Photoshop was able to get pretty decent results. GeorgeD aka Havok

I have had some pretty good luck at getting some photos of tattoos in the bookstore (a thick book full) also I have found that you can make some cool tattoos by getting a colorful design and placing them over the texture maps. I took a white tiger image, resized it, brought up the color a bit in photoshop and then put it on the texture map making sure I fit it on the map. Trial and error...but not too hard.
