Dina's mesh was reportedly scanned from a real live human, and photos of this human have been shown. However, it is an extremely masculine-in-bone-structure and facial-features "female". She needs her own unique wardrobe (a minus), but comes equipped with genitals (a plus). There are people who like her, and not just because she makes an alternative to Vicki, but I'm not one of them. It has taken experts many long hours to narrow her shoulders and soften her hips into something approaching femininity; those of us who don't wrangle with magnets on a daily basis are better off starting with a more natural base. The picture above covers her neck: many jokes about linebackers are in teh earlier threads about her. I'd recommend looking at various clothed and unclothed images of her before making a purchase. It is possible that the higher poly-count allows for better bending at knee and elbow. Carolly

Dina does indeed bend better at the elbows and knees, as well as the hips. There's also Vina, the newest version. Vicki's clothes fit her.

Vina D has the same mesh/poly count as Dina V, but her joint parameters and "figure" were changed so she could wear Victoria's clothes (Dina's joints work much better than Vicky's or Vina's, see http://www.dacort.com/dnv_menu.php) Dina has fewer built-in morphs than Vicky, and not as many freebies (someone just posted a texture today,) but the higher poly count looks smoother in close-up has serious advantages for morphing. (Dina's fingernails actually look round!)

Hi Folks! The growing list of distinct Poser characters can be confusing to newbies. I recently created for my 3D/Animation class a handout that describes all the chaarcters in the Poser Universe so far-- starting with Dork and Posette and including Vicki (1, 2, Spermodel, etc.), Eve, Michael, Stephanie, Dina, etc. If enough people are interested I can process the document as a .PDF and submit it to Renderosity to post as an FYI file or something. Sooner or later someone is gonna have to write a definitive book about the Poser Universe and its history. I hope it's soon. Peter (Dr Zik)
