Well here is one I managed to get today.....not as clever or as well done as Punkies, but it was pure luck. I stopped to take photos of the daffodils and fence, and a robin landed on the fence, hence the leading lines leading to the robin. Ahhhh......I'm gonna keep trying....

What a neat old fence, and how nice of the robin to cooperate! :-) Okay, I think starting to get the idea now....maybe sorta kinda, LOL! (Good thing I got that new memory card that stores about 600 pics, I may need them all!)

Looks like leading lines to me. Also looks like Springtime? Thought you lived north of Chicago? No daffodils here.

Nope.....south western New England (RI) Misha....about 10 minutes from the northern Atlantic coastline. And it's definitely springtime here now! Yay!

Beautiful, both leading lines and a wonderful pic of spring. Here in Sweden spring is about in the same phase, but nights are still very cold.

Nice image Michelle, I love the fence too but for me this is another example where the lines seem to lead out of the picture.

Bev, I think I agree with you, but to better understand,
how would you recompose this image to have the lines lead
into the scene? I'm having a hard time envisioning that.

if i may suggest, cropping the photo to the fence post would allow the eye to focus more on the leading lines. i love the shot, perfect Spring day on the East coast...

My take is just because there are lines in a picture, it doesnt make them leading lines. In fact, leading lines themselves dont even have to be lines. While this photo is really great (the robin was just too much to ask for), I dont see the fence as any kind of leading lines. I see it as a fence. But this shot is just screaming spring! Our daffodils here in Tennessee are already long gone. The dogwoods started blooming this week.

It is a great spring shot ; ) ASlina, I think the problem is the other line of fence cutting across the image makes my eye want to see where the two lines meet, I'm not sure how to change that except experiment with various angles......

Thanks guys! You're killing me! ;~) I pretty much agree with all of you and the robin is way to small to really be much of a subject.....Alpha next time I'll glue my cat to the fence...hehe! Like I said I'm going to keep trying on this I'm finding this month to be very challenging indeed.

Now, curious this one. I find the lines DO seem to take me into the picture - to be precise, the middle planks of the fence lead me to that highlighted plank in the middle, framed by the upper and lower planks. But then my eyes start to drift around the pic too....... shucks. Oh, and US robins ain't as cute as ours. Yours are longer and scrawny looking, ours are shorter, plumper and more like spuggies. (Sparrows to you's lot). Altogether cuter. So there. Na Na Na. (",) (btw, it IS a nice pic, though!!!! lol)
