I agree, it would be better if there was one focal point to post and discuss the different aspects of abstract art than just mixing it up in the different gallerys.
I know I searched all over for a "abstract" gallery and forum when I joined. I noticed it listed as a genre in the "Artist Page" when you want to search for a particular style.
I'd welcome the addition!

as far as a prescedent being set, it's already set. we have galleries for specific applications, yes. but there's also holiday, mixed medium, fractal, beginner, work in progress, challenge, 2D, photography...none of which have anything to do with a specific program or application but rather have to do with a specific theme. and Abstract Art is a very specific theme. very different from realistic art which this site seems to really lean too much toward. There needs to be a balance. Do you want to start a discussion about abstract art in any of the current forums? Would you have many if any other people join in with you or would you probably be told, if anyone responded, that it really didn't belong in that forum?
Hey all, So do you all want a abstract gallery? Lets see if the members want this?
You can't call it work if you love
it... Zen

so far i've seen every possible graphics program used to produce something that is totaly abstract. but where do they get posted? all over. there's no central gallery and no forum for pure abstract art. and it really is a completely different thing. And almost a totaly different breed of artist. Granted some of us do both realistic and abstract art but by and large people prefer to do one or the other, not both. I really think and abstract gallery and forum would be a good addition to this place.
