Subject: In Gallery, "Made in Isreal"

Yes, I know I got the name wrong. Sorry about that. Anyway, if the moderators are so hot at times to delete pics that should be censored, then this is one needs to be deleted. Normally I don't believe in any kind of censorship. Freedom of expression and all that kind of thing. This is different. For one thing part of the pic is of a baby killed. The big thing is that the pic is trying to turn the gallery and to some extend this site into a political arena. And for some reason that really irks me. I guess the right thing to do would be just ignore it and let it slip away. But sometimes you got say what you got to say! Besides, I while I deplore any act that kills children, I also firmly believe that if children are killed then it is the fault of the adults that allow them to be killed. Maybe if the adults stopped acting like childern with guns and bombs.... Sorry about this but this really ruined an already dreary Saturday morning. One last thought and then I'll stop. Considering the actions of a group of the artist's countrymen on 9/11, I really think that the artist is reaching if finds many here who will understand what he is trying to say or find that many will feel any kind of remorse except maybe for the little girl, caught up in events that she couldn't control. There all finished. I am willing to take any criticism or name calling anyone wants to fling my way. If for some reason you don't want to post it here, then email me.

For what it's worth I agree with you....... Krel

Likewise, Krel, I agree with Butch on this one. I have a few great friends that live in Israel (Yael, love ya babe, got more work for you to show off soon :) ) I usually have a ton to say about stuff like that, but I'm speechless... Butch, I do hope your Sat gets better from here. I hope all of ours does.

Just my 0.02... I watched on CNN last night that both sides are waiting for the US to tell them what to do. Frankly, if these clowns can't get it together and work this out, then they shouldn't inflict their stupid (and I do mean stupid) conflict on the rest of the world. We have watched these little children beat each other up for fifty years now: thousands of people have died because their idiotic leaders can't be bothered to realize that there's more to stake than their lame and ridiculous dogmae. I'm more and more in favour of just putting a wall around the entire area and letting them blow each other into oblivion. Neither side is worth it.

I don't see why the picture should be removed. I just states a sad truth. Expression of political views has and will always be a part of what is considered art. Instead of giving us another vicky showing her tits to the public, this picture actually has something to say. What is so bad about it? Maybe it does show a truth that is hard to swallow.

Well, I didn't see the image, either it was deleted or I couldn't find it. You didn't give a link, and there were no hits on either "Israel" or Isreal". As for you being irked about people using the galleries to air their political views, I offer you a question upon which to ponder; "why is it bad to express your political views through your art?". Art is a medium of communication. It has been used for centuries as a means to communicate political views. To restrict images that express political views condemns this site to a gallery of eye-candy pinups and stupid pink ponies. And this limitation only applies to the unpopular political views, of course; if it was a golden goddess waving 'Old Glory' while kicking in Hitler's skull, you wouldn't be complaining. Well, I, too, believe in freedom of expression, BUT, I also believe that anyone who says "I believe in freedom of expression, BUT..." really DOESN'T.

Ooops, my bad. I assumed that because this post is in the Poser forum, that the image was in the Poser gallery. Here's a link if anyone wants to see the picture in question.

I went and looked, and was neither offended nor do I think it should be taken down. Why is it, that photographs of similar events end up on the cover of Time and Newsweek, the photographer being hailed as sensitive, caring, and blah blah blah, and when someone does something similar in the galleries, people get riled? The world happens to be a political place.

If you feel an image is a problem. IM Jeff, smerc, or myself about it. And we will look into it. We are more than happy to get private IM's from you folks. Please don't get into gallery discussions here. Thanks, ScottA

GIVE WAR A CHANCE Lets give war a chance in the Middle East. For over 35 years killing in Israel and Palestine has prompted demands in the US that the parties meet to make peace. At times they have met, but more killing, not peace results. Over the years both Israel and the Arab states have broken the peace and resumed the violence. There is no reason to believe this pattern will chance in the next 35 years. As long as the Palestinians and their Arab supporters have the political and military means to attack Israel they will do so. The only solution is to destroy Palestines ability to fight. Defeat Palestine, and if necessary its Arab allies in war. In World War 2 the Allied Nations adopted the policy of unconditional surrender. This was the greatest political decision made during the war. Its critics said it would prolong the war, and it did. But it saved the world from the terrible false peace that followed World War1. It totally destroyed the Fascist governments of Germany, Japan, and Italy. It totally destroyed those nations will to fight. The war was truly over. The war in the Middle East will not be over until one side or the other wins. We do not help either side when we call for peace when there is no reason to stop fighting. Neither side will change until one is defeated, and the other has won. Israel, the only democratic nation in the region is our ally. It has suffered terrorist attacks from its birth as a nation in 1948. We dont help our ally by urging restraint when retaliation is warranted. Israel is fighting to save its nation and its people. We must realize that only war will bring peace. I did not write the above but believe it. 2-restraint and retaliation we are doing this with the attack on America. 3= I'm Jewish and Israel is my safe haven if I ever need it. After WW2 Who can blame us for not wanting our own home land. I wish the world was all at peace.

Love is Grandchildren.

What part of: "Please don't get into gallery discussions here" don't you understand? Please go to the OT forum if you would like to continue this. Thanks, ScottA
