Right click on the material sphere and select "Edit" In the bottom section titled "Coloring sphere" select the tick box "Use Mapped Picture" There will then be an area titled "Picture file" with a Load button in it. Navigate to your texture map and you're set. This is all I've found out so far... I've not used Vue for long, but I'm sure bumps use a similar approach. Really, just go in there and dig around a bit and you'd be amazed what you can teach yourself. Tilandra
Yes Tilandra. Concerning bumps it works approximately the same. In material editor, select bump page. Then right click on the sphere, then select edit function, then click on mapped values. A button named picture will appear; you will be able to load a bump picture. That's all. Yes it's not easy , but this type of system gives a lot of possibilities, maybe an infinite number (since you can mix several materials, with or without influence of environment, you can have several layers in one material,...) But I am not a specialist in that... :) Yves

I think you speak about the links to my site in the tutorial section. It is Lycos who's guilty. Ther have absorbed the server where I was (multimania) and each saturday and sunday they are working on the line; I cannot reach my site at all. That's very disturbing and I'm sorry for it. Tilandra explained for bitmaps. If you want to know how to create and apply a material and bump maps from procedural materials, I have uploaded temporary the tutorial at the address above (as my palce cannot be reached today). This tutorial were create d in Vue 3, but works also for Vue 4. if you encounter problems or have more questions, do not hesitate to ask here:-) Hope this helps. I know, I know.... there's a tutorial on the subject, but the link is dead. The manual itself does not appear to address the subject. I'd like to make use of the gold mine of textures and bump maps that are to be had on the Web, but I freely admit I don't know what the hell I'm doing. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
