Subject: Query re Poser IK chains

  • I have been looking at how to put an IK chain into a .CR2 file without remaking the model. It seems that, if I should have (but didn't) put this IK chain in the .PHI file:- ikChain tube tube1 tube2 tube3 tube4 tube5 tube6 tube7 tube8 tube9 then I could insert the following text in the appropriate places. But:- (1) What are the linkWeight values for? What happens if I alter them? (2) What happens if I put the inkyParent to something else than "BODY"? (3) Is this correct with Poser 4? (4) Are there any other pitfalls in doing this?

inkyParent BODY:2 nonInkyParent tube8:2 - - - - - -

inkyChain tube { off name tube addLink tube1:2 addLink tube2:2 addLink tube3:2 addLink tube4:2 addLink tube5:2 addLink tube6:2 addLink tube7:2 addLink tube8:2 goal tube9:2 linkWeight 0 1 linkWeight 1 0.2 linkWeight 2 0.04 linkWeight 3 0.008 linkWeight 4 0.0016 linkWeight 5 0.00032 linkWeight 6 6.4e-005 linkWeight 7 1.3e-005 }

Hello, This is a little beyond me. Where's Kevin ? Anyway I would go ahead and add the extra IK chain to the PHI file. Save the PHI with a different name. Change the name of the obj file it points to also. Then convert phi to create a new cr2 and then compare the section of code that is relative to your code.
