Subject: How's the latest beta patch?

MDibble ( ) posted Thu, 27 January 2000 at 7:33 AM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 4:33 PM

Any problems with the new patch? In the previous patch, you could delete the Ground. :/ That was a shock. Also does the latest patch fix the following problem? If you turn the Ground, say, 30 degrees and then scale the X dimension, you don't get a rectangle turned 30 degrees; you get a rhombus. Weird. This is a pre-patch problem. At least for me. Mike Sentence fragments. Gotta love 'em.

I would suggest staying away from the patch... esp of you want conforming hair ;-( ARADTech

There is a new patch that was released two days ago I believe .. I think it was supposed to take care of the hair problem ..

I have recently installed the latest patch, and just now tried the conforming hair. I loaded the P4 nude woman, added the long conforming curls and conformed to the woman, and they worked correctly. I then added the leotard and conformed that, too. It seemed to work, also. And, a tip until the final version is out, back up your original Poser.exe, Poser.rsr, and asi32_12.dll files. The patch is being distributed as an EXE for PC, and it won't patch the patches. You need to have the original above three files in place for the patch to run.

Even with the newer patch loaded I cannot open a previously saved P4 file (pre any patch)and have the tennis shoes conformed to the feet of a P4 female character. One shoe goes approximately in the middle of the back and the other covers her groin region. If I try to restore element or re conform the shoes nothing good happens. Anyone else confirm this?

The latest version of the patch seems to be pretty stable. The only problem I've had is with the walk designer and walk paths. Saving a figure with conforming clothes works just fine for me... clothes and the figure reload with everything in place. Ed

Heheh..ok I was wrong there is a new patch and it does do hair s, but I cannot get the Zygote Costume Shop male pigtail to conform right still.. anyone had any luck with this? ARADTech

Somebody tell me when this is all over and I can just download something that fixes things rather than adds new problems. :)

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

I second what arcady said!

We can all understand your frustration but, since Meta blew us off, Larry W. is doing the work on his own. As such, he needs users to test it and help him find the bugs or we will never get a bug-free patch. Discussing it here helps to determine if problems are, in fact, actual bugs or arise from some other cause.

MDibble ( ) posted Fri, 28 January 2000 at 7:45 AM

What bugs have users of 4.02.116 found in it? BAM, are you using this version of the patch? Mike

BAM ( ) posted Fri, 28 January 2000 at 9:49 AM

The patch I installed last was 40_402_116 on 1/25 at 6:51. So far this is the only problem I've had. However, it seems major since I can't use anything I've done previously.

Is there any chance to get a patch for the German version?
