It takes a while for my photos to grow on me....often what happens is I get excited while I'm shooting....then when I get them into the computer....I'm disappointed....then over the days or weeks even, as I go over the shots again I find one or two that I like or that I feel have potential. I initially didn't like these tomato shots....some were blurry (didn't use a tripod) and some the compostion was lacking. I was looking at these again last night, and this one jumped out at me. Anyway...I love tomatos...how about you? I remember when I was a kid, armed with my shaker of salt biting into them while the juice dripped down my chin and all over the place.

This is delightful. The color and the comp are really working. And no tripod-! I know what you mean about the disappointment once you get to the computer--I live with that feeling. But then, for those one or two that you actually like, it's totally worth it.

I agree, really bursting with life, colour is great. I know what you mean about the on off thing with images, the way the excitement comes & goes.

LOL! And there was me thinking I was wierd and that only happened to me!!! (OK, so now I know I'm wierd but not alone in thinking that about my pictures!) Love these - damn, those colours are so vibrant!! This could almost be a test shot advert for a camera!!! (",)

I'd worry if tomatos jumped out at me... This is very nice. Wonderful colors. Never throw anything away.

Great photo Michelle! Any one remember "Attack of the killer tomatoes"? high piched giggle But seriously, the colour and composition in this shot is cool!

Top class photo, like strightly from textbook. (ok, its not as sharp as it could be, but still.) We used to have our own tomatoes growing on our backyard, but you guys used salt(?), I used to run around with shaker of sugar. .n

Thanks everyone! I'm not sure if the sharpness problem is because it's from a digicam, or lack of a tripod, which I have a strong disdain for (I hate lugging the stupid thing around even when at home)! One of those guidelines ie rules that I know I should follow but don't. :~) I did run it thru the unsharp filter in PS.... Ahh....yes attack of the killer tomatoes....never could sit through that whole movie so I don't know how it ends! Bonbon...hope you didn't hurt your nose to bad!! hehe!

er, about that sharpness digicam thing... this is not original size, isit? so if u sized it down how? original pix? you lend me the org for some testing, hmmm, won't u ?? [cheeese] btw: didn't thought abouta digicam photo at all but IMO there really is some small amount of digicamcommon noise init... anyhow - asisaid: top notch photo!

Michelle A. ( ) posted Fri, 19 April 2002 at 1:29 PM

@t3 The original size was 1600X1200 tif file from camera....5.5 mb file....resized with PS...a little saturation adjustment and unsharp mask. That's about it....you want the original to play around with....just let me know where to send.
