We all know the Virtual Makeover CDs can be used to create hair in Post production, but how about as a modeling tool? If you had a 360 view I think the task would be much easier.. What say you? -JH.

Wow Jeff. I am totally lost about the makeover bit, but Dang thats nice stuff :O) Sprout

I'm with Sprout. Looks FANTASTIC, and HUH? How? -Talos

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, Jeff. These are some nice hair patterns...did you paint these?

SnowSultan ( ) posted Thu, 27 January 2000 at 5:30 PM

I heard the new version of the Cosmo CD offers side and rear views of hair...is that what this is? Regardless, I agree - excellent stuff, especially the top style.

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

These are screen captures from Virtual Makeover2 Deluxe. Some of the hair styles will rotate 360 degrees. A modeler could do a much better job making hair if they can see it from all angles. I'm asking if having this type of image as a guide will help in the process.

Talos ( ) posted Thu, 27 January 2000 at 5:35 PM

That's good to know. Everybody told me to get the 1st one with the pink box (the hair is masked) so I did! Hmmm.

JeffH ( ) posted Thu, 27 January 2000 at 5:37 PM

These are not masked and the only way to do it is with a screen capture. Also, not all the hairstyles have a 360 view.

Talos ( ) posted Thu, 27 January 2000 at 5:45 PM

Still could be useful. Depends on how many 360 views there are, at around $27. I used to scan B&W adds for wigs in the National Enquirer, then colorize them, so I am easy to please. Screen captures are no problem for me. :-)

The Virtual Makeover2 Deluxe version is more like $50.00

JeffH ( ) posted Thu, 27 January 2000 at 6:58 PM

If it asked for a CC# it wasn't the deluxe version. I'd say 60% of the styles are 360, more or less.

To answer your question. Yes these are indeed helpful, if they were larger. And any men styles? James

JeffH ( ) posted Thu, 27 January 2000 at 7:37 PM

They don't get any larger unless you resample the images. There are a few men's styles, but I haven't looked at them. -JH.

Virtual Makeover V2 (regular) does ask for cc for 360 views. you can export just a bmp of the hair, then you have to make a mask in Photoshop to use in Poser. This version $27 only does hair/head stuff. Glasses hats skin color/skin tone & lots of hair.

That certainly will help Jeff - with front/side/back views of the hair, modelling the shapes should be much easier. Paul
