Hi bodo_s, If you want to create more detail to your terrains you can make the resolution higher like Clay said. If you make the resulotion really high (planetary resolution) you will be able to create increddible terrain-detail. You can see the capabillities of the fractal- and noise-fliters in this image: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=119147&Start=55&Artist=Rayraz&ByArtist=Yes. It's all geometry, except for a very small bit of noise from a bumpmap. Play with the fractals and the different sorts of noise. It's really amazing how much detail you can give to your terrains that way.(_/)

i'm currently playing with a bryce 5 demo, and i just can't get terrains to look almost real, like in terragen. the resolution of the bryce-terrain-textures seems to be not high enough, or am i terribly wrong? i mean, in terragen, the terrains seem to have more detail. i think, this should be possible in bryce too, but how? is there a tutorial like "bryce for the complete idiot"...?
