Here is a picture I just recently finished. I was wondering if some of you out there could give me your opinion on the picture. The log cabin was made from scratch. Oh yea, I have only had bryce and poser for about 2 weeks. Thanks, Patrick

Not bad. Most of my early stuff with bryce wasn't nearly so good. Suggestions: First, turn antialiasing on. Second, you might want to get a different texture for the firewood outside. It all blends together and just doesn't look right. Third, the sky looks kinda funny. I'm not exactly sure what's up with it, but you might want to play around with it to make it look a bit more realistic. All in all, it's a really nice job for 2 weeks experience with the program. My suggestion may be beyond your skills at this point. But what I would do is get a picture of a real log cabin, make a jpeg image out of the log texture and then enter it into the materials editor to create a realistic texture for the cabin. Same for the woodpile. Rosh is right, get out on the net and download some of the thousands of sky packages out there, then play with them in the sky lab to get a dynamite sky. Personally, I'd put a dark, stormy sky up there, insert a full moon and then lay a very thin fog over that. As I say tho, in the short time you've had bryce, that may be beyond your present skills. You're doing good tho. Most people make simple landscapes with mirrored balls in them for the first couple montsh they have Bryce. At least you're trying to go beyond that.

Thats a good idea! I also was wondering about waterfalls. I really want to make one but i can't seem to find a way to make one. Know of any tutorials? Also, does anyone know how to make a cloth like object? I want to make some furniture for the cabin. I was thinking of putting in a wooden bed but i can't make a blanket to go over it.

Hmm... materials do wonders to give objects the appearance of being made of cloth.. but if you mean thin and drapery-like, the terrain editor is great for that, but that's a bit difficult, even for me. Waterfalls are rather difficult, though I have seen a nice tutorial somewhere for one, but I can't remember where. For upholstered furniture or a bed blanket, the best move is to play around with materials to give it the appearance of textiles. Good luck. It took me much, much longer than you to even get as far as you have. Rosh

http://www.halcyon.com/alrives/brycetips/messageboards/ That's the Bryce site where in the message boards or tips you should be able to find waterfall tutorials, and other tutorials as well as links to many other sites. Waterfalls are hard to do. I have a .mat that's supposed to be waterfall material, but I haven't tried it yet.
