Did you guys survive the earthquake? It was felt here, but I was sleeping....just wondering how you made out since they are reporting damage in northern NY.

I am, therefore I create.......

Good to see you're all fine! With my girlfriend living in LA, everytime I see the word 'earthquake' I get the creeps!

I definately felt it in my neck of the woods. I'm a couple hundred miles south of Plattsburgh, on the other side of the lake. Shook the whole apartment. I was sleeping too. In my groggy state, I thought it was my six year-old trying to wake me up for breakfast. :-) Very strange sensation for a native New Englander.

I'm on the first floor. Didn't feel a thing. Damn.

that earthquake was felt all the way up to Toronto, so it woke me up here in montreal this morning. I promptly went back to sleep though.

SLynky, it was only 15 miles from Plattsburgh, so of all of us, you were the one most likely to be slammed out of bed by this thing!

Slynky ( ) posted Sat, 20 April 2002 at 4:49 PM

most likely. It was something like 10 miles or so from Valleyfield, which is in lower quebec. It was enough to wake me up (a feat in itself), but I was so zonked i didn't pay much attention to it, and was only half concious when it woke me up. I remember things shaking, but I also remember only having my eyes open briefly. I'm maybe 50 miles away me thinks, prolly a bit more. now, if this was happening right now, in the middle of the day, I'd likely run out of the house screaming like a banshee. Sleeping though? I merely say "fudge ya" and go back to sleep.

tsk. We miss out on all the fun here. Never had the experience personally, know it sounds wierd but wouldn't mind knowing what a little one felt like. Not a big one, though. Oh, no, nothing scary, thank you very much. (",)
