Hey, welcome aboard! My suggestion would be to add a background of some sort and also increase the reflection on the desk, so it reflects the objects. The difference between metaballs and usual spheres is that metaballs interact with each other. Try placing 2 metaballs close to each other and see what happens.

Well here are some suggestions that you might try. (Please don't see me as too judgemental here, you did ask and I'm gentle as a kitten.) 1. I would lose the horizon line. It is very distracting, the first thing your eye goes to when you look at it. Then the objects have to compete with it for attention. You could paint it out in post work, or if you're keen on a re-render, turn fog and haze off. Or you could change fog and haze to a shade of blue that blends in with the rest of the background. IMO, this may be the one thing that is keeping you from feeling it is finished. The next suggestions are more about possible improvement from my POV and a little more subjective on my part. Feel very free to ignore them. 2. I would enlarge the martini itself. I think the image would benefit from the focal point of the piece taking up more space. 3. You could place a cocktail napkin in the pic with the logo of the bar (if available)on it. This would give you an excuse to have the name of the bar a little larger in the picture as this is meant to be for advertising purposes (I'm guessing). Also this would be cheap to do computer-wise because you could do it with a 2D Pic in Bryce. As far as your last question, metaballs are exactly like spheres except when you put them close together- then they physically run and blend into each other. But only when rendered, you won't see this in the wireframe. Hope this helps. Render on.

1} olive? 2) glass appears too thick 3) napkin as stated above. 4) object placement? 5) lady's hand holding bottom of glass? 6) address should be more prominent(do you want to capitalize letters?) 7) lacks focus (subject?) 8) perspective (lower?) 9) scale (glass larger?) 10) background? i dunno.your on the right trak.
First off, Sharen, thanks. You're the bestest. :) OK, so now that I am all bloody and lumped up, let me pick myself up off the ground. hehe. No, I'm just kidding. I'm in a good mood cause I just got home from work a while ago and I can get back to my Bryce works. TJOHN, not for adversising. She's just a friend and she ALWAYS hooks me up when I go in there. How does a $200 bar tab for my friends and I cut down to $20 sound? Yeah, I thought it was pretty damn cool, too. OK, the name of the the place is Martini blue so I am trying to keep it, well, blue. I also want to keep it simple and in perspective sizewise. I don't want the glass to look too big, but I do think it should be a bit larger. As far as the backround, I kind of wanted it to sort of cut through the glass, I guess I have to lighten the glass a bit and as far as logos go, well that's it. A blue martini glass. Get it? Martini blue? Yeah, so, how about a beer instead? Seriuosly, that it was I was going for. A blue martini. The lettering on the pack of matches (that's what it's supposed to be anyway) is the same way it is on the actual pack. No caps, all lower case. I did it in PS6 but the letters seemed to come out a bit more blocked than I wanted them to. I do need to to something with it so it looks better. Any suggestions on the lettering? Cocktail napkin...under the glass or to the side of it? How about more of a reflection on the surface? A lot more or just enough to see the the reflection? What about a sphere light IN the glass?
