Subject: Stephanie question, part B - textures

You guys gave me a couple of really good suggestions below regarding a softer looking Stephanie character. My next question is: what are your favorite textures for Steph? The only ones I have are the ones from Freestuff. I also haven't fooled with trying to convert Vicki's, although I've heard it's possible. Anyone having good results with this method? Ok, so two categories: favorite free Steph tex and favorite purchased Steph tex. Thanks for the input!

Well people have told me they have good success with my Shades of Mike textures (free). Bloodsong remapped Steph to take Mike's textures exactly - so you might want to pick up the objaction coded cr2 to make your life easier. Lyrra

AprilYSH did a remap of Stephanie to take Vicky textures. Works like a champ. You'll need OBJmover (from freestuff) and morph manager (also freestuff) to transfer Steph's morps over to the new .cr2. ByteMeOk's Bliss texture (you get 2, one for Steph and one for Vicky) is very nice

I second the recommendation for Bliss, and I also like Jaime and/or Taylor by Spectre-- both very inexpensive and gorgeous. There are tons more I could recommend [just so other merchants I've bought from don't get mad] but those two artists are special and give very different effects. Also, Angel by Morris is wonderfully different. And AprilYSH's texture remap works brilliantly. I'm dumber than dirt when it comes to following tech directions and I could work it. Emily

I'd mention my new Stephanie textures but then this thread would probably be moved to the Product Showcase Forum. :-P

queri: you're in trouble now lol mentioned a different place to spend money!!!!

OH MY! LOL I got the DAZ (another one of THOSE different places to spend money) textures (all of 'em available for Steph so far) as base textures to create my own versions off of - for personal use only of course. They are a great starting out point. I like Lyrra's textures, and I like the Dionne freebie of Daio's too.

heyas; i used uvs encoding on steph-michael mapping, not pcf. that uses uvmapper to decode. (yes, the free one, too!) april used pcf for the steph-vickie mapping, but that's since been pulled, as it doesn't work with the 'new' stephanie that was updated. does anybody know when the 'new' steph-vickie mapping will be available? is it now? well, where the heck is it?? :)

AprilYSH ( ) posted Wed, 01 May 2002 at 3:09 AM

i went uvs too cos pcf is date sensitive. which sux!! wonder if maz can change that. it's available again at 3-darena.com freebies so pc users must use uvmapper pro or uvmapper free 0.25e version (no earlier or it will stuff up) and mac users can try out the uvmapper pro demo, there's no free uvmapper for mac that will decode it properly.
