Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 11:02 am)
Try one of these:: 1. go to ..Geometries and when you arrive there delete the CR2 file (this forces Poser to re-create it) 2. Or if you're running the latest Beta Poser patch, you should probably check and see if this is a known issue (I've avoided it like the plague because of all the problems people have been having) Luck to you two! No, I've stayed away from the patches, not until there is a final one. None of the files I've tried are CR2 files. All are PZ3 files that have been posted. I do not understand this problem. Perhaps if someone has the Miroku character and it loads on your system, you could resave it and e-mail it to me and I can see if it still does it. As it is now, all I can do is save the hair model because that's all that comes in.
I just did a quick check on the Miroku character...hadn't unzipped it yet, so I went completly from scratch for this. It unzips with some directory structure, but is just one file...the pz3 file. I double-clicked it in Explored from the folder it unzipped to and it loaded perfectly. There no problem with the file itself. It seems the troubles you're having are within your system...not sure what would cause this, but it does seem like a full reinstall of Poser may be in order, unfortunatly. :( This seems to have fixed alot of odd Poser behavior mentioned in alot of posts here. Is Poser installed on your C: drive? I had problems when I had mine installed on D: and paths in the CR2 and PZ3 pointed to C: ... fixed by either loading textures (or whatever), manually or by editing the file. I dont think Poser looks hard enough for the files :) Also if the character is based on the standard Poser figure then its possible that the RSR file has become corrupted. Then as falcon states, dump it and let Poser build a new one.
Poser is in my D drive. I don't have room in C to install it. It's possible that the RSR file for the figure object, in the case newFemaleNudeHiP3.obj could be corrupted. The RSR file for the snake in the animals section was corrupted. Which figure exactly does this obj go to? Is it the P3 fem? I don't work with the P3 people hardly at all so I wouldn't have noticed a corrupted file on them. I use the P4 people. I've only once successfully edited a CR2 file (Trench Coat Man). The PZ3 file was absolutely humungous! I wouldn't know where to start!
Thanks guys for all your help. It was a corrupted RSR file for the P3 fem! Since getting P4 I've not used a P3 fem at all and that's why I didn't know the file was corrupted. Anyone know why or how that happens to RSR files, does it happen when the program is first loaded, or later when you start adding stuff?

I just tried to load up the Miroku character and it happened again. The file loads but all I have is the hair hanging in the air. No body, nothing. This is about the sixth character that has done this to me. The Amazon, Emma Peal, Darkchyle and a couple of others do this too. I changed the Miroku file into a text file and looked to see if I had the body file in the geometries folder and I do have the obj. So, I don't know why some of these characters aren't coming in. Anyone know why and how do I fix. I really wanted to use the Miroku character for a picture.
